@Slug_Life has a pretty ingenious drying method, Don’t know about his temps though. I have similar issue, found and old plastic 4x4x6 ft shed on craigslist, put an air grate in the side and a couple wood dowels in. I hang my buds on hangers, inside there. Not ideal, the temps fluctuate between 70-85,90 humidity is stable at about 40-45. have a small fan in the bottom running 24/7, and I have to put a couple wet towels on the floor twice a day to keep the humidity up. So far Ive been able to get 5-7 days for a full dry. I also throw newly chopped untrimmed buds in the shed which I think helps with humidity. Hopefully by the time my prized plants are ready to chop I can set up in the extra bathroom. 70 degrees, and I can easily keep the humidity up at 50 or more.

@VF does the high temp hurt ?? I have 1 plant drying out in my shop but i need to chop my 2nd but i dont want to until i know for sure a good proven drying method . The 1 in the shop seems to be drying too fast its only 3 days in and i still smell hay !!! What do u think

High temps are no bueno. Ideal is 60-70 degrees 50+ % humidity for 10-14 days, from what the pros around here say. Really hard to get to that where I am. Next month, when hopefully the rest of my buds will be finishing up, the temps drop 10-15 degrees making it better. Today it was 95 outside.

I know right it was 90 here today . And even hotter inside of a tin bulding and all i have it a 5k btu ac window unit …u got any pointers

This is the forcast for the next week im hoping that the rain will cool off the building enough for my ac unit to cool

86 for the high and 72 for the lows with rain everyday for the next 5 days

I don’t know, still kind of new to this high tech stuff myself. Way back, when I was younger, we just put the buds in a large brown paper grocery bag, kept em in a cool, dark spot. Maybe if you have a little window AC unit you could direct the cold into a large cardboard box or something along those lines. All I I know for sure is light, and heat are the biggest enemies to drying to quick. Good luck and keep us posted on how you do.

I didn’t read that, then your golden if your AC unit will cool the building, try to keep em in the dark as well.

@VF Good looking out, glad to chime in, sorry I am late.

Here at Thunderdome i am trying not to dry out my stash. I showed a pic of the drying setup-KISS-fam blows into holes at the bottom(uhaul Grand wardrobe box)Holes cut out on both sides of the box…this is my first season using Boveda and Grove bags. The boveda is 62% and the 67 size.
It is pretty hot here. I trimmed my MTF today because the plants only took 5 days to dry.

SL out.

Do your boxes have one hole or two @Slug_Life?

I found a used Tupperware storage shed on CL for cheap and cut a hole and put a register on it. I have that same fan, sits inside and I close it up tight every night. I had some buds dry in 5 days as well. Better than nothing but far from Ideal. I have a shipping container that stays about 80 degrees 40 % humidity. I might just bag some up with all the leaves in the old paper grocery bags. It might not dry as fast that way.

Still hoping my loving touch will agree to let me use the extra bath room for the second half of Sept. I’m offering her a bribe of a trip to Florida to see her relatives. That way I could do the perfect dry.

@VF I cut out holes on both sides. Just my garage is dirty

I cut my ladies wishbone style so they straddle the metal bar on each box. The contingency is wire hangers that can be tightened around the metal bar and the limbs hang. I also keep the box opened to gain some space.(i don’t collapse the sides. In the past i have ,but trying this way to gain some height.)

Cool man, thanks. I might have to try this. I’m grasping at straws. Some times the low tech is the best answer. Hope you have a seamless transition from dry to cure and enjoy your harvest.
