Where can I find the correct steps to creating a seed strain that will reproduce itself?
Researching colloidal silver or sodium thiosulfate is a good place to start. Each is used used to force a female to produce male pollen for breeding feminized seed and crossing strains.
Sorry for my abject and total stupidity, but why couldn’t you put a male of strain X in a tent with a female of strain Y?
Is it because you would get both M & F seeds and you want just F?
Yep. Just regular seeds.
Yep whet you just said is how to get the strain your after then have to grow the regular seeds to find the female pheno of the new strain then use colloidal silver orsodium thiosulfate to get femenized seeds for your new strain. If you do this please tag me as i would love to do so but life has thrown me a big curveball with wifes recent diagnosis so no time for new ventures but would very much enjoy following your journey.
Guys and gals, breeding is not a thing you do with colloidal silver. The last thing you want to do is breed a female with herself. Whats the point in that?
A good female is important, but a good male is equally important. Passing along genetic information is how we breed. Selfing a plant does not create a new strain, nor does it work to improve a strain. You need to go outside of the mother plant to bring new genes into the game.
Furthermore, regular seed implies that a male has impregnated a female and she produced seed that will be regular seed ie not feminized and not GMO.
It is possible to impregnate several buds on the same plant with multiple males. You will get seed that corresponds to the crossing. Example, Afghan female x Lebanese male on bud A, Indian hashplant on bud B, Mexican on bud C etc.
There are plenty of books that teach botany with respect to plant breeding. It doesnt matter if the plant is a rose, or a tomato, or a cannabis plant, the theory is still the same.
