I think the current SF is a decent size for the 27x27 inch Mars hydro. I have been reading here a lot about the quality of HLG. Would this be a noticeable upgrade or just a waste of money at this point. Has anybody done this before? I would love to get your thoughts. Thank you
Sf2000 should be plenty for that size space. Hlg 260 would be the better light of the two, although probably overkill. I’d save my money, if you upgrade your tent look into Hlg.
Wait for the light Experts to respond
@Bullpup just order you an AC infinity 4x4x8 or a 4x2x6 and the lights and you have a complete full setup with a veg tent and a flower or you can just order a 2/1 tent with the nursery on one side and flower side separately.
I am limited by space. The biggest I could get is a 2x3 and I have not seen any decent ones in that size.
Try a 36x36x36 might work too right ?@Bullpup
You have a good light , I would consider another tent for flower 2x4 due to limited space then I would recommend getting the light to go into perpetual growth
I will take dimensions again tonight. It is in a tight space as as. Thanks for all the ideas. I was looking at a small gorilla tent 2x2.5 but area will be the same. The next grow I will just try one plant in a 4 gallon tall pot. Kinda strange I am thinking about next grow and still have a month left on this one.
The HLG is a better light, but the Spider Farmers SF series is competitive with Samsung LM301 diodes. I’d stick with the Spider Farmer.
I went from Viparspectra PAR600 to HLG. I went from getting like 7 oz dried, cured and no stems to over 2 lbs dried, cured and no stems. I am an anomaly when it comes to growing.
I have a 4x4 tent with two HLG 260xl Rspec. Currently only using one since two is not needed just yet. I am so glad I made the switch.
I have four QB260 rspec and won’t buy anything else now. My next purchase will be three UV supplemental light bars for in-between them and that will do me just fine
@Davyg 260xl rspec runs about how much US $?
Hello @yoshi I’m in the UK and have just switched from half HiD/led to an all led grow. I will know costs better in a month or two. There’s definitely less of a draw at the outlet though
Hey Mrpeat. I am getting things together for my first grow. I am leaning toward the HLG brand because that seems to be the consensus on quality around here. My tent is a 3X3 AC Infinity. On the HLG website there is a 260xl Spec which is a kit. They also carry a HLG 300L RSPEC that is assembled for a few dollars more. My question, are these basically the same lights as far as performance is concerned? I would rather pay the extra dough to avoid putting a kit together.
The 260xl won’t fit in a 3x3. @dbrn32 is the light expert. It looks like the 260xl rspec has a little more wattage but not by much…like 10 watts.
Hlg-300L uses same boards, slightly different heatsink and driver. If you don’t want to assemble, hlg-300L is very good option for 3x3.
And it is on its way! Thank you all for the quick help.
It is so nice having a place like this to come and get answers from experts. Don’t ever think you aren’t appreciated!
You’re welcome…
