Cloning, help an old man out

I have recently wanted to clone. Been growing for 20 years on and off but im on my second attempt and first was a fail, second not looking good. Whos the best clone guy(or gal) willing to have a look??

Not the best but just had a successful clone run a weekago how are you doing the process

It took a little over 10 days to see any root growth and 17 days for all to show roots had 6 clones in all

pics would give a bit of light on what your going through. how exactly are you doing your clones?

I take a trimming, usually a good looking shoot with 2 nodes or more. Then shave the ends and dip in cloning pwder.

I place in rock wool cube soaked in ph 5.5 water with a little rootung hormone and veg nutes. Dosage on the nutes is about 10% of the reccomended.

I put clones in the cube and into a humidity dome. Light is 20/4 and thats it.

Last batch dead and dry in a week, this batch on that same general shedule. Ill get som pics up in a bit

Im not an expert by any means but the veg nutes might be your problem. I know without a solid set of roots the plant cant take those in. When your roots do come in, the nutes might be effecting them. Just my guess, like i said im not an expert but thats the only thing i see that could be off about what youre doing. I hope they take a turn for the better. Happy growing!

I tried first without nutes at all, results are same. These are just yellowing and dieing. Agrevating, i know its something simple and stupid im doing wrong or not doing.

You dont want to give nutes to a clone right away. Myself, i use RO water and never ph because ph only affects nutrient uptake. I just take the cutting, soak it in water a few minutes and then dip it in clone-x and put it in rapid rooter or root riot. Put them under a dome and mist the dome every few days and i keep mine in 24/0 light

Ill switch these over to just water and see what happens.

What kind of light are you using?

Its a knock off blurple i use for seedlings. Aint much but i have vegged a couple hundred seedlings for their first month with it. Get an fc of about 1300 at 12".

i use to use the T5 22inch, 2 over the dome, lol. ever able to upgrade, check out a HLG100, what I use now and love it. Dont know if many know but you can order them from home depot for 99 bucks. IMO, i think if ya just used RO water and misted every few days, you’d have better sucess

I do just as @ggc1962 says only difference is after dipping in root gel i dust with mycorrhizae and i mist with distilled water on the clones to keep them moist i also clips the points off the leaves help absorb moisture

I do trim leaves. I dont use myco tho. Ill add that. This is my last shot at clones off this group, flipped to flower o. 420 and got pistols alredy.

I got chutes i could use. Let me get a few pics up later, if they are beyond salvage cut again.

Buy a cloner or make a bubble cloner.

Im thinking about building one. Doing some expansion so money is tight. I just bought a tent for flower(4x8), building a couple lights, thats gonna be at least a grand, and ive for some stupid reason after 20 years of growing decided to start cloning and crossbreeding. Cash is forcing me to prioritize unfortunately.

i have done 3 sets of clones so far. i cut a piece off my aloe vera plant slice it open with a razor. i cut off a small shoot from the bottom of my plant at a 45 degree angle. i use a razor and scrape the bottom put it in the aloe vera plant and then into lightly watered soil with a dome over it after i mist the dome. i leave it under a plain old florescent light for 18/6 and in 10 to 12 days i transplant. i cut off all the fan leaves except for the top too.

Go to the store that’s not home depot an get this $7 or if you have a small black tote use that.

A small air pump and 2 airstones
Some 2" netpots, neoprene collars and cloning dip.
If you good you can get it all for $20
When I buy one seed and make 20-50 plants, 7.0z-20.0z each, not many things make money like that.
