hello. has anyone chopped a plant early for whatever reason when there was only clear trichomes? what was the effect from eating or smoking it?

Early , clear , gives a jittery / zippy high.
Sometimes a bit of paranoia tossed in for good measure. Headaches are common.
No last and small lift.
Just my experience with too early harvests.
Far better to let it go till full cloudy with 10 - 15 % amber for the full effect.

What @Oldguy said, only downside I could see is you don’t allow plant to grow to its full potential and risk having buds that aren’t dense. So your end product is likely not as much weight as you could have gotten.
With experience you could try to get this result but you could just grow sativa for that effect

Harvesting early reduces THC potential. Here is a video detailing THC percentages versus week of harvest.
You will also give up yield.

We had one that was starting to get into rot. Chopped it down at 8 weeks and it’s definitely lacking some punch. Buds are airy and not filled out. Still good smoke and aroma buts it buzz fades pretty quick.
Until I started growing again, I did not realize some of these effects were from weed harvested too early. I remember smoking some back in the day and got so paranoid. Now I know why. I like couchlock anyway so I always let mine go til I see at least 15% and really like it closer to 30% amber on the trichs.

Ditto and I hear this often when I ask someone if they smoke and they tell me how horrible their experience was. I know right away it was probably harvested too soon

@OGIncognito did you see the tag from my journal? I posted some trich pics, they are 8 weeks from flip tomorrow but tons of amber trichs on light side and all cloudy with some amber on bottom. Would love your take on them if you have time.

I harvested a batch early…harsh and pretty much the same effect of grabbing a handful of grass from my lawn and smoking it…
