Canna nutes and coco

After 10 years using soil and GH nutes, we made the switch.

Switched over entirely to Canna coco and all Canna nutes in Autopots. Since switching to Canna all the drama associated with mixing nutes and monitoring pH is over.

I’ve always checked the pH of my water right out of the tap just because it’s something I’ve always done. Gives me a mental baseline of sorts. My tap water always comes in at 7.5-8.

But since switching to Canna, after I mix my nutes, and test the pH, this is the reading I get every time.

But are you growing in soil or coco?

This grow was in coco, Autopotomous consistently recommends 5.5-~6 in coco through veg and flower.

Truth be known, after this grow, we’re never going back to soil.

I’ve been 100% coco and stay at 5.8.-6.0.

Do you really think a tenth of a % makes a difference?

Nope. Were on well water and get fluctuations. I try to stay between 5.6 and 6.0.

A happy medium for me and coco is 6.0. I play the drift using auto pots and think it’s advantageous. Hits all the various nutrient uptake sweet spots. If I’m starting the initial res fill, I add about 2 gallons at 6.0, this fills the trays for starting and my res top off weekly is at 5.7-5.8 so the drift occurs through the week :love_you_gesture:

When I mix my nutes I pH out at 5.7 each time.
I check the reservoir daily, and I pH out at 5.8.
A tenth of a % drift. I attribute it to the Canna nutes. They’re really stabile. It’s so nice not having to add pH up or down anymore.

I use Mega Crop in coco with auto pots. I go in reservoir at 5.6 and over a few days rises to about 6.2 to 6.3, I have tried all ro water, all tap water, and a combo of the 2 and ph drifts up. It doesn’t seem to affect the plants, although in a perfect world, it would be nice to not adjust the res every day or so.
