Hope there are growmies on here who have experience using bud bowl trimmers ?
Mine came with bubble bags that I know nothing about!!
Question 1: should I separate the trimmings by strain or can I combine 5 different strains to create one unknown bizzare clump of hash/dab butter product ?
2 should I decarb the trim before I ice bathe or no ? #3 - how should I store the trim until ready to use ?

Suggest you research dry ice hash. It’s clean and fast compared to the ice water hash technique. You put your weed in a bucket with the dry ice, shake it and then strain it through the bubble bags. Out comes Kief. The finer the mesh of the bubble bag the less plant material comes through = more pure Kief.
I use a bud bowl and i love it.
I don’t manicure to be the most beautiful. I’m more concerned with a quality smoke than a pretty bud.
It really makes trimming easier. I just remove the bud from the stem and toss a bunch in the bowl. I don’t worry about leaves or anything. The bud bowl just chips it all down.
I harvested 40 ounces yesterday and the bud bowl saved me time and pain.
I use a bowl trimmer. It shortens the trim jail from days to hours.
As to mixing and matching; I do this with oil all the time. Unless you are making edibles you don’t need to decarb your flower. I would also suggest you shake your kief with dry ice instead of ice water. It’s way faster and you get a cleaner product IMO.
Dry ice is definitely easier and less messing around. Bubble hash is nice but to do it right it needs to be sieved and dried properly. If you wanna still do straight hash, i would still recommend doing dry ice and then rolling it with a boiling hot wine bottle. But rather immediately after and not waiting. I find waiting makes it harder. Check out how to make temple ball hash on you tube with kief. About to try a bowl trimmer here soon for first time, sorry no experience with that yet.
I use a bowl trimmer. Saves hours. I just do a rough trim of the big fan leaves, and then run the buds through the trimmer. Not quite as nice as a good hand trimming, but I’m good with it.
