Bud rot, is this it?

I thought a few buds looked like they were dying so I cut them out, these brown spots are pretty much at the base of most branches. Is this indicative of classic bud rot?Is this a total wipe out?

I don’t see anything wrong with it clearing the picture up so can see what you talking about my friend @Jerdan03

You talking about the brown i marked

Yeah basically, like the nodes where you tell it’s female are all brown plus starting to infect the whole bud at places. The top left actually has some webbing too, I’ve looked for mites but do t see them?

Yes, it looks like bud rot…

Let’s double check with @Oldguy , he just cut down some infected buds… and @Budbrother

That browning and grey will give it away every time.

More! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Absolutely looks like it

How far from done are they?

What the heck are all these little black balls?

I would guess it was an insects poop … A lot of the times but rot is caused from caterpillars or an insect burrowing into your bud and it leaves a hole that the water can’t leave from. Then you get Bud rot. You have a couple choices and I don’t know how far along you are from it being done you can cut the bud rot out. And try to let it go a little longer and you never know what will happen then. Or you can cut it out and hope it’s done and harvest your plant. I’d like to see a picture of the trichomes up close. These guys really know what they are talking about it would help you a lot with your final decision.

Looks like bud rot to me. I experienced it during a wet spell years ago. Now we have a horrible drought.

Definitely the start of rot. It happens in high humidity and wet conditions. Last two weeks outdoors can always be a gamble when it rains for days. Happened to us all…

These girls had a rough start. Placed outside several weeks too soon so it started to flower then tried to reveg then flower again so buds are not very dense yet. I was thinking of chopping all the branches with trace of rot and let it grow another month. I’ve noticed maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of colas have some rot. Not sure what to do?

@Budbrother

You can try to remove the impacted parts of the plant and hope for the best, but you’re going be on an uphill battle. The shock of all the trimming on your plant will probably have some negative impacts and the bud rot is a fungal disease that spreads very easily.

Nobody wants to hear my recommendation in this situation. From what I’ve been reading, spores are everywhere already, so I’d personally call the crop a loss.

Even if it’s not fun to hear, it needs to be said. Even water curing wouldn’t be worth it in this case… :worried:

Agreed. Once it gets that far into the plant it’s pretty much pointless.
@Jerdan03 Better off to toss it for your own safety.

You wouldn’t wanna smoke those spores if you care about lung health, are older, or are immune compromised in any way. May be able to water cure and salvage some for making energetic edibles.
