I have a BB auto flower in its 7th week. It looked really healthy and thriving up until today when I notice leaves drooping? Also, I’m very lost about the next steps in the flowering phase. I’ve read several resources but I’m still not clear on when to start the flush or whether I should continue nutes (I have Jack’s big bloom)? I sense that I’m close to the end here but as a 1st time grower, not sure.
It’s in a 5 gallon fabric pot. I just watered to run-off and have 6.85 pH and 1740 PPM. Definitely higher than expected PPM, but is 540 over substantial? Any advice on next steps?
I love growing in FFHF.
I learned I need 30% perlite because of water-boarding tendencies.
FFHF and many others start high for PPM.
I do 6.2 input with PPM 700-1400.
My plants for the first ever grow are doing reasonable with top watering.
I lost a plant that looks like yours and didn’t solve the reason.
Do you water on time, weight (of soil) or droop?
Overwatered looks like ours.
Flush and dry out, recommended, I would imagine.
My 1 gal and 3-gal bags never have over-watering issues.
The larger containers can and do.
Thanks! I hope not to lose her this far along. I did a flush with pH water at 6.5. I was able to get the PPM down to 1200 so now I’ll let her go to drought before watering again.
Every one I’ve seen like this, upon investigating post mortem (lol) found a poorly developed root mass. Likely damping off early in the plant’s life. Not saying that’s the case here though.
Agree with you @Myfriendis410
I was most happy, in life at -200feet under water on air.
Yup. overwatering can creep up.
I am now trying to practice, wait until they wilt and tell me they are thirsty.
Maybe my newbie understanding of “port mortem” was misplaced. Does this refer to after you’ve harvested the plant and since it’s not a perennial, the plant is done with?
Agree, you never said his plant was dead.
You said “post mortum” investigations often show poorly developed roots on problem plants.
and I assume
Mostly, nobody cares on good, well-developed plants.
@soarhigher4
The need for flushing is counter-productive for keeping air to the roots.
Perlite at 35% by volume, works for me.
Lift the bag method often difficult on heavy non-draining/drying bags.
Quit the 10 gal bags and like the 1-gal, I have.
I have in the past, removed the soil and re-planted the problem non-drying-draining soiled plants. Regardless of size, but photos, probably. Space, soil, time and goals dictate your choices. Keep us informed. Thanks.
I am happy to have discovered the difference between looks good and 35% by volume, with soils.
