They are some odd looking plants, that’s for sure. I can’t tell if they are growing well or not. I mean they are green, so I guess that’s good.
Wasn’t that lineage created to allow for stealthier grows? It kinda has duckfeet shaped leaves rather than pot shaped leaves, as a kind of camouflage?
Maybe so - from the breeder description it was apparently an Afghan strain that someone brought to Hawaii, and then it was grow for several generations in Hawaii before being brought to Colorado. It definitely looks different. I sure hope I have a female in there so I can see what kind of flowers they produce.
I never had a bad experience.
I bought it “just in case” and never used it
The four clones I took around two weeks ago have all rooted. Three of them rooted a few days ago - the Duckweb I cloned took a bit and now has 2-3" roots poking out. No definitive signs of gender yet - but my initial assessment is that it looks like the Rosetta Stone is will be female, and the larger Cherry Bomb will be male… but I won’t know for sure until a few days from now.
Let the games begin.
I took clones from both the Kwazulu (male) and the assumed male Duckweb. I figure it would be nice to have pollen from both a pure sativa and a pure indica on hand, so I’ll keep them around until I can either gather pollen or use them to open pollinate a female plant. The way the Kwazulu smells I kind of want to breed it into the ASC F2s if I find a female I really like at some point. It has a good fruity aroma to it - very strong. It also has really nice structure over all - symmetry, etc. and grew nice and short.
The clones are sitting on 500ppms of Jacks Clone formula at a PH of 5.82. I feel so much better with just water under them. I’m running them on a 16/8 schedule until I see them root, and then they are going into the tray. So that means I am now on a clock to get the flower tent set up with the ebb and flow system. Roughly a week to get it sorted. There are presumably 18 female clones in there. I am going to go for a 5x5 grid and just fill up three rows - the leftovers I’ll keep to replace the mothers.
On deck is an Alien Snow Cone F2:
And I just dropped a pair of Double Tangie Banana regular seeds last night.
I would say! Sounds like we’re in for a good one!
Love me some DTB! RELEASE THE HOUNDS!
Two days, no roots on the DTB seeds. Might be duds. If so, I will drop a pair of DJ Short Blueberry F5 seeds.
Changed my mind. I dropped three Brian Berry Citrus seeds instead. I haven’t tossed the DTB seeds yet. I’ll give them a couple more days.
Hopefully they pop, Matty’s were gorgeous plants.
Well that’s Matty. Pretty much all of his plants are gorgeous plants. Me not so much.
You’re not fooling anyone lol
You’ve seen the pictures in this thread, right?
Anyway I didn’t see any females I particularly want to keep around as moms from this first batch, but I will keep clones of the three females until I can smoke them just in case. My objective is to get to five moms and rotate them in and out as I get sick of them or want to grow something else.
Ya, your grows are just as good as anyone else’s lol.
Still no joy on the DTB seeds. One of the three Brian Berry Citrus seeds has a good tail going - the other two are starting up.
Spending the day setting up the flower tent for this next iteration.
Due to the drain valves that I always forget about, you can see that my attempt will be to try and run 24 plants in the tray at the same time. I won’t be able to fill it with the first run of clones (I only have 18 females I believe)… but will fill up the remaining spots as I have more clones available.
That is a thing of beauty!
I get a little bit better at setting it up each time. Heh.
I can’t wait to see it full of plants about week 5 of flower on.
