Today is candy making day! Once I get myself going, I’ll be taking 1.5 oz of quality buds (amnesia haze & bag seed) & infusing it into 2/3 cup ghee via my instant pot (which will also simultaneously decarb the herb).
Then, I will melt 11.5 ozs of Guittard dark chocolate with half the budder & 2 tbsp of espresso powder. From there, the mixture will be placed into a mold, making 30 ½oz candies (1-3 servings each, depending on tolerance).
Mmm-mm, that sounds scrumptious.
Also, total bag seed dry weight of 3 tiny plants: 40grams. Only used 26grams of bag seed weed in edibles, while the other 16grams is amnesia haze.
And the pressure cooker is on! I’m trying not to think about the fact I might have just sacrificed 42 grams of weed to the gods of experimentation.
In 50 minutes, I’ll know.
Think I’ll go smoke while waiting.

Yep, the pressure should decarb. It reaches a minimum temp of 230f and a max of 248f.
Alright, cook time is finished, now I have about 10 minutes to wait for cooldown & pressure release. So far, ZERO smell.
Welp…I made a tremendously huge mistake. While straining the budder, gloveless, I got a large drop on my hand, and I licked it off; then, I got some more on the handle of my potato masher, so my right hand got coated in oil.
Now, I am getting higher & higher by the minute, my hands feel all floaty, and my mouth is tingling.

I forgot what I was doing and ended-up licking the chocolate mixing spoon clean. This clip is an accurate representation of how I feel at the moment:
Love it when a plan come together @blackthumbbetty. Clearly the weed decarbed just fine if you got those effects just from licking some drippings. How long did the whole process take? Those candies sound amazing too. Might have to try that. Have you ever added anything to the chocolate like almonds or raisins? I made budder today too but in my Magical Butter machine.
@AnneBonny, me, too! It took 50 minutes cooking at pressure. Plus, there was no cooking smell, whatsoever.
Lightly grind the herb, divide it evenly between 2 pint mason jars, add melted ghee, stir & crunchit thoroughly, then put lids on just slightly looser than if you were canning something.
Place trivet or towel on bottom of pressure cooker, then place jars on top, and fill cooker with h20 until halfway up jars.
Pressure cook for 50 mins & allow for another 10 minutes cool down.
Strain. This might take some effort. I strained via wringing through a cheesecloth for a good 20 minutes.
Ready to use.
Next time, I want to add some craisins or something. Maybe caramel or coconut. This recipe is a great base recipe, so I think anything that won’t clump up the chocolate would work.
I am basing it on how much brighter it is then all the others same size. And im basing it on the fact im own a few and have ran 2 for the last year straight with no problems no bulbs out and dank dense flowers.

I didn’t say they didn’t work. I’m saying they’re probably 2.5 watts per led, not 10 watts. And with epistar leds there’s hardly any difference between a 3 watt, 5 watt, or 10 watt leds when they’re run at 2.5 watts.
The only difference between the three leds is max current level. None of them are run at max current, so what difference does it’s theoretical max power consumption have to do with anything? Cheap led manufacturers put that on there to lure unsuspecting buyers into thinking they’re getting something they’re not.
While it probably is brighter than your other panels, it probably consumes more power too. There’s probably less than 3% difference in output across the models mentioned. So if they’re all consuming the same amount of power, you’d be hard pressed to notice the difference with your eyes or even a meter. Led power is a function of the driver installed. Ten 10 watt leds driven at 1000ma is 30watts. Ten 5 watt diodes driven at 1000ma is still 30 watts. Outside of going to a much more efficient and expensive diode, you wouldn’t see the difference.
Here’s the finished product. I tried to be gentle so they’d be perfect for the pics, but they got a bit scuffed up, anyway. Next time, I’m going to be more ocd with unmolding them.
They taste like yummy, delicious weed. I am slightly disappointed by the texture, which is kind of like a Hershey bar. I tempered the chocolate & everything, but no perfect snap; I’m assuming it’s from the ghee, maybe?
It’s chocolate…glorious chocolate! Snap or no snap, scuffed or not I imagine they taste delish! Now I want some and will have to settle for Dove.
