Figured I’d start a journal…
Currently growing a Glueberry OG auto from Dutch Passion. This strain was the first pack of seeds I ordered online back in 2019 and this is the last one I had.
She’s currently 21 days old (sprouted on 4/20) and has been hand watered thus far in a 5 gallon fabric pot about 2/3’s full of a cocoa perlite mix.
ES180 light set to 50% in a 2x4 tent
I just removed the big top fans to expose the colas and started a little training outward

cut them huge ass sugar leaves off I feel like it’s to heavy for her to go up plus you don’t need them anyway

I agree…grow colas not leaves!
They’ll be gone pretty soon. One thing I’ve learned with autos is if you cut on em too much at once they seem to go into flower. I took 4 big fans today, I’ll get the others in a couple days.

I would only take the leaves touching the coco. You need fan leaves for photosynthesis. I only remove ones blocking airflow or light penetration.

A point of clarification: The only leaves on a 21-day-old plant are fan leaves, and they’re essential for photosynthesis. Sugar leaves aren’t “big ass;” they’re the small, frosty leaves you’ll see immediately under and in between the buds during bloom, which won’t even begin for at least 3 more weeks to this plant.

You can’t grow bud-laden colas without the vegetation to fuel them. And autos are going to flower when their rudelaris genetics tell them to flower.

I’ve grown a few of them before
I originally planned on moving this plant outside then decided against dealing with Mother Nature. Stuck her in a AutoPot and topped above the 5th node.
