In a new grower so I’m still learning. I harvested my plant and just setup to dry. I had a couple big buds that I was concerned about mold during the drying process. So I cut/pulled them apart just to be safe. I noticed the inside of the massive bud has yellow areas. Is this normal? I attached pictures. There have been no signs of mold the entire grow. Temperature & humidity have been well controlled.
Some of the first pictures bad these are the same buds but maybe better pictures. The yellow/white areas of these buds were one big cola. That was the area that was from the inside when it was all together. I don’t see any mold present but baffled
Normal for buds inside being white, my daughter had a cherry gar see ya that was purple but inside the buds white, light green.
If you just chopped, it’s where chlorophyll hasn’t broken down yet. This is why we shoot for a slow dry so this process has time to take place. Drying too fast leaves chlorophyll and other undesirable materials in the cells of the flower, which can result in a harsh smoke.
As far as I know you’re fine as long as there isn’t anything brown in there.
Does that color change after it’s gone through a correct slow dry or does it change during the curing process or both? Any knowledge is greatly appreciated and thank you to the comments already
