Checked on the buds today. Its day 5 of the drying process with the environment hanging at 70 degrees and 50% RH. I checked the humidity on the bigger buds (they are dense too!) and the highest reading I get is 9.8. Granted, this meter is made for wood and sheetrock and the probes are only about a 1/4" long so I can’t get a reading in the center of the biggest buds. Should I let them dry further?
Hate to say it but that looks nasty Grow Bro, your drying conditions are good and wondering if the mold started prior to harvest?? Break that bud open and check the inside
Are you keeping a fan blasting in the drying area? Not on the buds but enough to move the air around them, a lot. I like to see my plants swinging when I hang them, like a mini tornado in the room.
Sorry to jump in @T-ray but does anyone think a bud wash and restarting the drying over be an appropriate action to take? Or would addding the much moisture back to the buds just make it worse?
As fat as those buds looks, i think it was an easy mistake to come by. I’ve had to throw away ounces and ounces because I bagged too early and ended up with super moldy buds.
It will not be too late to wash with h202. You just have to re-dry. But first cut out all the rot and make sure to take at least 1-2 inches of god bud along with it.
I am going to go over the two plants real close tonight after work after I make Jambalaya - youngest son coming over for our weekly sit-down meal.
I am gonna have to take a few more bud to discard that was up against that infected cola. That sucks, yessiree Bob. But, part of it, and I will make this a learning experience. Not sure what I could do different either.
