Hello everyone,
My first grow, with that said I would like to ask when and how will I know when it’s time to send to flower ? Should I go by time ? or am I looking for something in the veg stage ? Thank you for any help.

If auto will do it by itself. Photo turn when you have vegged and trained to your liking. I prefer photo myself. When big as you want…remember stretch…then turn those photo.
Welcome , if you’re growing photos after the plant shows its maturity you can flip at any time. Keep in mind Managing your grow space , plant can double in size after the flip to 12/12 Light schedule. Hope that helps good luck
Yes, it does. What I think I was really asking is, can you send them to flower too early or too late ? they are photo.
Thanks again
Not really. Too early and they take a while to transition. Too late and you run the risk of running out of grow space. If you have plenty of grow space, that won’t matter
The only too early/too late that really matters is when harvesting.
Thank You !!!
Howdy,
As mentioned, autos do their own thing.
With photoperiods, you can start flower when ever you choose. I’ve taken to vegging for 2 and half months or better. It is my experience that older plants will be more potent.
Timing is not as important as manipulation. A plant is “ready” to flower as soon as it shows it’s sex (preflower). Clones are generally “ready” as soon as they show roots. LST, HST, topping and netting can be instrumental to large yields in indoor grows.
Several factors will influence a grow. A plant will “stretch” in the beginning of flower. It can double it’s height in a matter of weeks. Be prepared for that.
Also personal need comes into play. A person can produce consumable product in as little as 3 months (not counting drying and curing). Not a lot per plant, but you can clone several plants at once and grow a few together. I did this once with 4 plants and got roughly two ozs per plant. On the other hand, one of their sisters went outside, grew in veg for about 3 months and produced about 3/4 lb. alone.
Thank you, that’s helpful to know.
I wait until they start to preflower at least - The autos I usually run do it on their own ![]()
