What is the best yielding led grow light on the market?
Anything built with Samsung LM301h diodes. HLG, Spider Farmer SF series, and others.
You have led lights out there that are the best but they come with a massive price tag ive seen them go for 2,500 dollars for the very top of the range led grow light
That would probably depend on the space your growing in HLG’s always top of the line in my book but it would depend on the situation what you’re trying to lite
You can purchase state of the art Samsung diodes and build your own fixture for a fraction of the cost of buying one. I’ve done several strip builds and have everything but the driver for the 4th and last one for my grow space.
Depends on the size of the space. I’m partial towards Horticulture Lighting Group and ChilLED Tech. I run several HLG 300L r-specs (flower) and b-specs(veg). I also run a ChilLED Tech X3 for my 4x2.
I have a 4x4 grow tent and i was thinking about this grow light2022 New SPIDER FARMER SF-4000 LED Grow Light 5’x5’ Coverage with Samsung LM301B Diodes & MeanWell Driver Dimmable 450W Commercial Grow Lamps for Indoor Plants Full Spectrum 2.7 umol/J Amazon.com
Id start with where is your budget for a light and go from there. Some lights that are the “best” can cost up to $2500 per light
That’s not the best and way under-powered for a 4x4 tent.
This is closer to best and enough light for a 4x4.

I also have a 4x4 tent
I run 2 240watt Kingbrite LEDS with the Samsung LM301H diodes and meanwell dimmable driver
I figured most of the Samsung diodes are made in China, so why not buy straight from the supplier
How many plans, the size of your grow space, and your budget. Samsung LM301H is top one, but Samsung LM301B also performance well and cost-effective.
@Hellraiser I just got the R-spec scorpion for my 4X4. 600.00 for refurbished. I’m putting in when I finish this flower. Should be nice with 6 288s and 2 UVAs. No more dark corners and they say can run it lower to the canopy. I do not have a decent light meter so, I’ll have to go by wattage. Anyone else running this light?
This will help alot with that new light.
Nice! Check out the Photone app for your cellphone, pretty decent light meter.
What do you mean man??? I’m a new budget grower. I bought a Bloom Plus XP Model 4000. (It’s the upgraded model with 301b diodes). I got it on black Friday sale for 189$. They’re 350$ lights!!
What are you talking about build your own??? You can buy kits??? Could you please expand…how, where, what do I Google to try and buy my own and out it together??? I love the idea!!! Sorry, I’m pretty new and still learning. Thank you merry Xmas!!!
Hi there. What exactly does a better diode (281 v 301b v 301h…and something about Orsam IR??).
What does a better diode do, a wider footprint, deeper penetration, less heat…and an even more important question, does the price justify the upgrade??
An example (my prices maybe off, but you know what I’m trying to say) Spider Farmer SF1000 with 301b is 100$.
Same exact light with 301h is $140.
Do the upgrade diodes justify a fairly significant price increase?
Sorry for the long message and questions but I’m new to GOOD grow lights. I have the money to buy a great high end light. BUT, is it worth it?
Also, I’m not a “yield” guy, I’m a quality guy. I don’t medicate except for evenings.
The most important thing about buying a quality grow light, is the made in america part. So in essence, the service and replacement of parts and or light can be made quick. Top bin diodes vs the standard diode of same classification is also a plus. You can grow good bud with alot of lights. But for me, the fast warranty and great customer service is worth it. Hlg and Chiled tech are the two top tier lights i would recommend. Hlg has kits as well to build your own and save a few bucks with awesome diodes. But will get a better warranty from a diablo bought whole. 5 years!
@Poseidon1, Just a FYI, unfortunately HLG has moved away the DYI kits. Their website under LED kits just has a couple pre assembled lights. Under the LED components they just offer the 272FR board, (Old 288 board), and a couple drivers. A couple years ago they had a lot of choices there on both menus. I guess they figured that it is not worth the risk of having people wiring up their own lights, and I guess that is understandable also.
