Any light built with Samsung LM301 series diodes. The LM301h is the latest generation. HLG (Horticulture Lighting Group) makes outstanding lights for cannabis. Lighting should be the component that you spend the most money on.

Stay away from anything made in China and has a purple colored output. The manufacturers of these lights greatly exaggerate (read: they outright lie) about their product’s capabilities. They even manipulate their reviews by offering money to people who give bad reviews.

Hlg is highly spoken about here. I just switch over and am very happy. I haven’t used them long enough to say anything about longevity though. Cheaper to get refurbished and the code dude or grow will also take a big chunk off. I forget which one i used

If you can afford it HLG is the way to go. Also check refurb sections and there are discount codes all the time for like 20% off and if a veteran you can get 25% off one purchase.

I will only use HLG from here on out, 100% worth it and definitely my favorite product and brand of all my growing necessities.

If all the above praise for HLG hasn’t swayed you yet I’ll jump in and say HLG is the way to go!! Customer service is through the roof. I’d bet that 75% of people on here have made the mistake of cheaping out and going with blurple. Buy it once and buy an HLG!

I changed over to a Mars Hudro fc E3000 bar led light and I’m really happy I did, I’m only in a 3x3 and it’s perfect for that :pray:t2: Great coverage too

Sounds like my wife. She gave me a whole bedroom, but still complains that the bathroom is too messy. :joy: all I do is get water for my plants in there, it doesn’t gotta be clean, it’s gotta store nutes.

HLG is king in terms of best yield for your dollars spent. I’d go for anything with a Diablo board (QB648, not the QB288). Refurbished Diablos (650 Rspec, or scorpion Diablo) are gonna be the best bang for your buck. REFURB is good for 20% off any refurbished.

Green Beams is a direct copy of the older style HLG lights - they make the QB288 but with the 301B (rather than 301H) and use inferior red diodes, but for the price it’s hard to complain. Their 480 watt model is about $380.

KingBrite is good for customizing your lights (pick the diodes and spectrums) but they take a while to ship and come straight from China. Evaluate that as you will and don’t necessarily expect customer service. I’ve never had a need to contact them for any, but I’m not sure what kind of response I’d get if I did.

I’d steer clear of Mars Hydro, Spiderfarmer, Viparspectra, Vivosun, philzon, Bestva, etc etc etc.
some of them do manufacture one or two worthwhile light fixtures, but at the end of the day you’re going to be unhappy with what they provide compared to the amount of money you spent on them. Ask me how I know. :joy:

Can’t go wrong with hlg but as stated before anything with Samsung LM 301 diodes b or h would be suggested that’s the latest and greatest in diodes that would be my thoughts :v:

Another hlg here. Look at refurbished. I got the 350r refurbished, and it does an amazing job. May not be big enough for a 4x4 though. Probably the 650r. Uses code DUDE.

HLG High Power with low dimmer settings. Light life is great! Dual 260 Rspec in the 3x3 and dual 350R in the 2x4. Both with UVA 30. Each tent also has a HLG 100 V2 4000k for seedlings and early veg stored in the tents when not in use on there own yo-yo. Living my best light life!

260’s

350R’s

Not for everybody, But how I roll!

I was just looking at these. I was wondering if one is enough to flower in a 4x4. I contacted AC Infinity but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking probably not as it’s only 400w. They have a couple of new lights coming that look interesting. They have an Ionboard T44 coming out that is 520w. Was just thinking that one light that can produce enough watts might help with keeping temps down in the tent.

Every new growers biggest mistake when starting out.

That is the best advice. Research

This is an ac infinity ionboard s33 in a 3x3 i have no problems flowering. so with the s44 in a 4x4 i think you’ll be alright. Im putting this s44 in my 3x3 and taking out the s33. the s44 in a 3x3 will be alot better for coverage but the s33 was doing just fine in there.
