Autopots autoflowers defol mid flower

Hey everyone, again couldn’t find exact info or how to proceed so I’d like some advice on autoflowers in autopots specifically defoliation in mid flower. I’m currently on day 58. 1st grow last run was 300g ish per plant. All seed supreme. Hand watered in 5g fabrics. My favorite last run was the dos si dos but larfy bottom and didn’t defoliate as well as the others which were a breeze to harvest. I’m having an issue as I have 0 space in a 4x4 with autopots and I cannot keep up with all the foliage. I heard you shouldn’t defol this late but I have been a little because they’re massive. (Barney’s farm gmo, strawberry cheesecake, critical k and mimosa x OP). The gmo is much taller than the rest. Had a ph issue which only affected the critical and mimosa the most. GMO didn’t give a damn. Spoke with manny from AP and they got me back together. Gmo is fine but the other 3 seem to have so many layers of leaves and it’s hard to keep up and I don’t want to cause any issues by defoliating this late. Maybe time for a larger tent and light but any advice on what to do now? Again super leafy at day 58 and have been trying to keep up with defol since mid veg until I saw it was starting flower. Had a bad seed so the right front is 6 days younger than the rest… that one alone has so much foliage inside.

Holy smokes growmie!!! Those are some huge autos. I can see now what your concern is. If you have to defoliate, ive heard not to do more than 20% at one time. Youve already heard im sure, defoliate at day 21 and 42 after flowering starts. Hopefully, someone with a good alternative for you will be along soon. Monsters!!!

Thanks so much! I assumed people who get this all the time would be like “massive?” But compared to my last grow they’re definitely killing this 4x4. And yes 22/42 I’ve heard but I’ve also seen people defoliating autos up until harvest as well. The reason I’m not sure. Thanks for the reply @PhatPat!

Weekly I change out the res tanks and pull them out, which is much more difficult being in autopots but I usually pull a decent amount of foliage off and haven’t seen any stress afterwards unless I don’t know what that looks like which I kinda don’t… also they’re pushing up against the tent so some aren’t getting their fair share of light… gmo is taller so it gets all the light vs the shorter ones. Which is only
1 plant since the other 2 are catching up… what a predicament!

Looks like booster seats for the shorties then. You got them looking great thats for sure. Keep it up! Gonna be a good harvest for ya.

Yea the gmo is probably 6 inches taller than the other 2 and the ph issue mimosa is the size of my first runs smallest. But they’re in autopots so I’d have to raise the one res tank much higher than the one tray to get it same height and gravity feed. PITA. I can’t tell if the last run from seed supreme was decent and I did a good job/luck or the autopots and Barney’s farm are stellar…? Not enough experience yet. Story of my 40yr old life! Def need bigger tent and lights for sure. Your comments are always appreciated and thanks again phatpat!

Some…myself included…believe in little defol on auto. BUT!! Most auto do not veg that well. Great job. If not making edibles from lower those girls can handle a prune. Inside worthless stuff. Lower branches going nowhere. Well done. I leave a lot inside but i stage harvest for edibles and use the bulk inside for that. That is a pic to send to autopot. Might gift you gear to use it…grin.
