What are people’s thoughts on defoliating autoflowers? I’ve read and researched but get mixed reviews every time? Anyone had any actual experience with experimenting this?
@Not2SureYet this is right in your wheelhouse.
@Not2SureYet will show up I’m sure of it now. Lol
some day soon I hope
Sorry, Still fighting issues here. I believe I am treating mine the same as one would a photo. I have been copying @MattyBear He told me that for the most part. I should wait till about week 3 when the stretch is over. That way, It lets every one get to the top that can. I trim every thing lower afterwards. I am normally in a scrog. but same deal. You almost have to tag me right now to catch me here. I am super far behind. I will follow this though
No worries buddy, it’s just my cream mandarine auto only the fan leaves seem to be growing and not the branches that produce flower, and it’s still getting taller, but all my others are growing perfectly normal, so I was wondering if I should giver her a light defoliation? She’s 29 days old from sprout
Nope, You only need to defoliate larger plants with leaves blocking air flow or other bud sites. Or that is how I go. But yours will soon fill out. It is looking good
Ahh okay nice one thanks buddy!!
I’ve accidentally broke a few leaves off already lol only fan leaves though luckily
I would leave it alone too. You will see in a few weeks. She will be ready to lst as the branches grow out. You may want to lower the light a little or turn it up if you can. To slow a little of the stretching. Over all. She is looking great
Wicked thanks buddy I’ll get on that right now! Not too bad in height really for a 1.5 gallon pot and they’re all autos lol but I’m pretty happy so far For my first proper attempt, few worries and stuff During early stages but I think that led to rushing worrying too much over watering etc… all the general rookie mistakes I suppose
What would be your estimate on yield with no LST compared to it I did do LST on the large glu gelato one? Based on size
She’s 20” tall so far
Yield is hard to say. I really think you are going to have a lot of issues in about 4 weeks. That pot is way to small. It should be in a 3 gallon at the least. I got root bound with all my plants in 3 gallon pots my first grow
What happens with root bound? Will it kill them? And aren’t auto flowers not supposed to be transplanted?
And how comes can’t keep them in smaller pots? Like how comes can still grow them in solo cups without issues?
Just started 3 autos do you use any nutrients I’m using happy frog soil
I will find the link for my first grow to show you mine. Some do grow photos in solo cups. not autos. They can grow them small and then flip the for a tiny plant. You can also keep a photo in a cup as a way to buy you time for ever crowded tents before you transplant. Sorry to dissapear. I am converting a video and it over heated my pc. I had to shut down and blow the dust out of it. The vid is really working this ore than normal. I will be back in a bout 1 hour after I have it converted and up loaded. Sorry about that. I will answer all your questions though. Or that I can
I don’t use soil, so I can’t really help there. @Myfriendis410, @Covertgrower, @dbrn32 or @Missiles can probably help there brb
