Hey all, I’ve been trying for a few days to figure out why my plants are looking so terrible.
Autopot system, coco loco (45soil 45 coco) sf-4000 light, organic nutes. At day 66. I had a ph issue right at flower and I thought it was rectified after dealing with manny from AP. My feed schedule is showing between 850 to 1050ppm and it’s 950. Ph at the Rez tanks are 5.9. Steady. (Finally). Also temps are 77f and 50%rh steady. I don’t know if it’s a calcium problem or too much nutes? Leaf tips are curling and they’re yellowing again. Light is high because the gmo is taller than the others. Set at 7 which photon is showing 60ish dli for the shorter plants. GMO seemed unphased even with all the ph issues until now. Noticed there’s fungus gnats but used D-earth and yellow sticky’s 2 weeks ago and don’t really see them. Maybe 1 or 2 when I pull them out to clean. If that. Any advice is always appreciated.
I would shut off the water supply for about a day and lower the light intensity a bit just to the “problem child” plant. The rest look pretty good. Also, check the ph right in the tray.
I checked the ph in the tray and the AP says that number isn’t correct as the plant uptake changes but it’s 6.3. I have to let my plain water sit for a day with wavemkers on before I add nutes if not the ph rises considerably so they are using 16 gallons in 4 or so days and they get a day to dry. Which one day they do get quite light. I’ll drop the light intensity down and see what happens. Thanks @Pinboy!
You have some big plants!!
I appreciate that. This is my second time growing anything. All I do is read about growing! Last grow which was my first ever was seed supreme and I got almost 1200g out of 4. These are Barney’s and in autopots. The gmo isn’t autopotamus massive but she’s a monster. She didn’t even care about the ph at all! Thanks @4204life!!
Your 6.3 is a bit on the high end but still in range. I tend to let my ph drift a bit from 5.7-6.5… in your case tho I’m not sure I’d change anything because the others look nice and healthy. That’s kinda the nice thing about growing clones as opposed to seed. Clones are all the same so when you get 1 dialed in they’re all dialed in
Ok I see. So I guess I’ll let ‘em sit. I wish they’d all dial in together! I keep getting conflicting info on ph. My soil is just that. Soil and coco. 45% soil and 45% coco. Next run I already have the canna coco…
Maybe my bad. I’ve never used cocoloco and missed the fact that it’s a mix. The 5.8 I was speaking to is for straight coco/perlite. I use canna coco bricks
Probably not the most popular soil option but I treated it like straight coco my last run and it produced very well. Just confusing on how to treat in AP. Last time using cocoloco anyway. I assumed it was straight coco because I didn’t know any better. Only my second run. I’m around 5.9 at the tanks but wondering if it’s too low? I’ll have to find the thread but another ILGM member uses the same soil in autopots at I believe 6.3? But I was close and mine went brown and locked out… definitely 100% coco next run. Always appreciate the comments thanks pinboy!
Good run you have growing there! I also did a coco/soil mix once and those plants didn’t turn out as good as the others in just coco/perlite. Have you harvested yet?
Yes I actually just got them all jarred up recently. The strawberry cheesecake was the lowest yielded but absolutely the strongest. 260g. The other 3 are over 400g each. Used the same soil last grow and was over 300g each auto hand watering. Autopots were rough at first but got it down. Upgraded to a 1000w led. Larger tent, in-line and uvb lights. GMO from Barney’s was almost a lb but mediocre at best. Waiting on some packages now and I’ll be using cannas lineup with boost and cx products in canna coco pro +. Gonna be another learning curve but I’m excited. Mephisto this time.
Just jarred these. Glad they were staggered cause a 4x4 wasn’t big enough.
Nicely done!
