Autoflower droopy, cal mag?

Hey all!, I have 4 autos in coco in autopots. Ph has been an issue so now I check and adjust ph multiple times a day. Recently I have someone doing that since I’m in another state for work. I received these pictures today. I do know the ph is good. About 5.6 in the tanks. Using canna coco a+b and regenaroot from Cx. I can’t tell what’s going on. Any input is always appreciated.

Plants are in flower, pH for coco needs to be up between 5.9-6.0

Ok. Usually @ 5.6 ish, by the time the water hits the trays it’s around 5.8 but I’ll up it as you said. You think the dark veins and light leaves look like cal mag deficiency? Thanks again for your time!

When the pH is too low or too high, it causes the plant to have trouble taking in certain nutes. Some of your plants look good except for the drop, which can also be caused by pH being off.

Are you mixing, then waiting to use your nutes? If so, how long?

Yea so my well water ppm is around 80 and it’s very difficult to keep the ph from rising usually with synthetic nutes, so I use a wave maker for 24 hours with cal mag (last refill was Saturday) and only did 2 or 3 ml per gallon because it seems to make ph drift up a lot. Then add nutes and turn system on. So approx 24 hrs with cal mag moving around. My ph will go from 5.7 ~ to over 6 in maybe 8 hrs or so. I check ph at least twice a day. Im just not sure if I need cal mag or when I should be using it…

With the res on, are you running the wave maker all the time? The reason I asked is I use auto pots in coco/perlite and found the wave maker to not be much good in helping with ph drifting maybe made it worse. I know lots do run them successfully but for me I removed them. I was running them every 2 hrs for 15 minutes. I have autos in flower now and start about 5.9 and it will go to 6.3 or so. I use combo ro and tap about 100 ppm.

Likewise plus they increase your res temps :love_you_gesture:

That’s exactly how it works for me. I can’t run the wave maker because it does add heat and makes ph rise much faster. Only used when I check ph and add nutes then immediately I unplug them. I just got home from a work trip so I’m mixing getting the Rez tanks ready as I write this. I’ll up the ph a bit like mentioned and see how it goes. Does anyone use cal mag or know when to add it? Not sure if I should or not.

I’ve been using auto pots for 5 years and chased and adjusted PH the 1st year. Last 4 I let it drift through the ranges. My initial tray fill is at optimum PH, I then top the res at the bottom of the range and let it drift. In coco I set the 1st fill at 5.9 and the res fill at 5.7. For coco loco I go in at 6.5 and the res fill at 6.3. My drift over the week usually lands at the top of the range and in my opinion the drift allows all the nutrients that have different optimal uptake to be taken up during the drift….just my opinion and has worked for me :love_you_gesture:

That’s crazy! What ph does your tank drift to? I’m too nervous to try that!!

Another one of the best soil growers around @ChittyChittyBangin also uses the pH range low to high, correct me if my memory failed Chitty. I copied them in my quart-sized grows when I had a pH meter and it was good

Only during a ph lockout @Jaysittinback if youre referring to ph adjuster

Heyy i meant I thought you let it drift so the range low to high is used by the plant to uptake the minerals with different range, thanks man

With soil it drifts naturally. Only when your buffer is gone do you have wild swings which will cause lockout.

around .5 on the drift. Currently running coco loco so I set the res PH at 6.3 and 5 days later the PH is 6.7 or 6.8 :love_you_gesture:

I have some in another tent using coco loco as well. I was just trying to master the coco in autopots like our buddy autopotamus! I’ve had nothing but massive plants in coco loco especially with cronk nutes. As a matter of fact I think everyone in this thread has helped me in my past grows. So I really appreciate all of ya!!!

In case anyone cares, recently I stopped using the wave maker all together and instead using a big spoon to stir up the rez tanks… now when I check ph recently it’s set at 5.8 to 5.9 (they’re definitely looking better so thank you all!!!) but it would rise to probably to 6.8 ish but now after stopping the use of the wave makers I’m rising maybe .8 ish. In 24hrs. For sure not using them anymore. Again thank you all for the advice and I’m very grateful!
