Welcome to the forum! Beautiful looking plants you have there! I like the idea of the auto pot system!
This is my first post on this forum. I am a relatively new grower and this is my first grow in the auto pots system. Hi everyone.
I am growing in 4x4 tent 400w light (ac infinity)
Strains: trop cookies auto, apple fritter auto sour cheese auto.
Tent accessories: cloud forge, cloudline, dehumidifier, ac fans
Medium: pre buffered coco
System: autopot one pot plastic pots w/ 47L reservoir. Using the airbase and air domes with air stones. Made sure to pack airbase with medium prior to potting as per instructions.
Light: onboard s44. Height 24" setting 4-5 DLI: 28 ppfd: 490
Nutrients: diablo 3 part nutrient lineup micro grow bloom cal thrive frost ppm 850
Light cycle: 18/6
Humidity: 50-60%
Temp: 21-25C
Res PH: 5.6 tray ph 5.9-6
When I transplanted to the pots I top fed for a week prior to turning on my autopot system. On the last top feed I turned the system on and to my surprise two of my plants went beast mode (haven’t had great success with vegetative growth in the past) and I was off to the races.
It was clear to me though that the apple fritters never established a good enough root system to bottom feed. Those two plants have been laggard in growth vs the two in the front in the pics.
Near the end of my first full res (I maintained ph) I noticed what appeared to be cal mag issue with new growth having yellow patches near the veins of the leafs. This was around about week 4-5 and right prior to transition to begin flower. Other than this I been doing a little LST. To open up the light exposure and let lower branches compete for the top. The plants looked otherwise healthy.
The plants were nearing the flower stage so I decided to do a pruning/lollipop of the branches and I think I may have been a little overzealous especially considering they are autoflower strains. I definitely stressed the plants. Having had light issues with autos in the past I decided the turn the lights down this week to let them recover a bit as it was mostly new growth exposes. I made up a new res with the usual feed and introduced a little more bloom nutrients. I believe around this time my pH also drifted and the leaves began to look terrible. I visited a local grow store and he recommended some foliage spray which I tried. I also noticed the plants stopped drinking so I gave them a top feed with the runoff hose in the system (I realize now this is probably a mistake as I’ve been reading about sal building up from top feeding with system on) I only run the air domes with lights out.
My question is with the recent pics you can still see some yellowing of new growth, do you think I can still manage a decent yield, I haven’t seen much of a stretch this week or growth in general. It’s a little discouraging. Do you think the plants are just transitioning to flower?
Any suggestions of what to do from here for the best outcome or advice people may have for success in autopots would be greatly appreciated.
I have some bubba kush seeds I’m excited to sprout for my next grow in the auto pots, this is a bit of a trial run to figure it all out.
Hi thanks for the welcome! I am excited to connect with other growers in this community and learn new methods and techniques to improve quality of yields. I love this new hobby! (Been smoking my whole life
