Have you found that the tray’s higher evaporation rate causes a noticeable increase in water use, compared with your autopots?

Wow. I have flowering plants in 3-gallon fabric pots containing soil at the moment. They’re roughly 40" tall, including the pots, and using 12 ounces/day. I knew that coco + perlite increases the rate at which the plants can absorb nutes, but had no idea the difference could be 5 or 10X!

but am doing some tweaks to mine this next grow, Promix and 50 percent perlite instead of coco

I think Promix contains roughly 25% perlite. Are you saying you add an equal volume of perlite, ending with 75%?

I’m assuming you meant the Promix HP, obviously.

No, I use BX and yes, 50 percent more perlite!

BTW, my math was faulty – a 5/8 mix would be 62.5% perlite.
