Are water only soils good to use for autoflowers?

was wondering if water only soils are good to use?

If you fed from day one I’d say it’s ok but if not your gonna starve your girls

Any soil that says “time release nutrients” or “feeds for x months” is not a good cannabis soil.

Most good cannabis soils have sufficient nutes for 4 to 6 weeks from the last transplant. All soils are going to require nutrients at some point. There are no soils that can flower cannabis without added nutrients of some type by the time you get to flower.

I’m with @MidwestGuy The best blends will need a little help in flowering stage to get to the finish line. read what the plant tells you If she looks hungry you might need to feed. Welcome to the community good luck ! :+1: :v:

Even living organic soils will need a few top dressings of nutrients :love_you_gesture:

Here’s what I do. Use a 5 gal fabric pot of happy frog mixed with perlite and fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3 per the instructions on the package. Then top dress with the fruit and flower after about 6 weeks. Then once a month after that if necessary, and that’s it other than ph’ing your water. I also mix some worm castings in when I’m filling my pots. Good luck.

Living soils are great. Water only. 2 ammendments during grow. Several of us use Earth Dust from The Green Sunshine Company. Cook soil for a few weeks"dont HAVE to" and then just water. Ammend 2 weeks before flower. Then 1 more 30 days INTO flower. Thats it. Ph range is large. Most water sources can just go right in. For a good thread look over thread created by @MeEasy .

Not always true. I have completed 2 Indica dominant plants and on the 3rd one. So well over 1 year. The soil is starting to finally get drained of the nutrients and it’s FFOF top dressed with FFHF.

These two grow cycles only received nutrients 1 time each. Now my Sativas I would agree whole heartedly.

This applies to both bags. The back one is still loaded. Front one is drained finally. She received only 1 nutrient feeding so far.

@Gronasbros probably will end up trying that soil out thanks for mentioning it :+1:t2: Although it won’t be till maybe sometime next year or just before.

Yeah , I definitely reuse my soil in my vegetable garden an it does fine. Sometimes I’ll add a small amount of worm castings , blood meal , bone meal, kelp.

I always regrow in the same soil since money doesn’t
grow on trees. I absolutely do not add anything. Once the soil gets low from taking the massive root ball out, I will top dress with new FFOF and or FFHF. Generally the OF one.

This is why I mentioned my Sativas as they will drain a brand new bag in 6 weeks.

Now my Indicas I usually let them ride as long as I can before adding nutrients. I have noticed how smooth the smoke is.

I didn’t start adding nutes until 8 weeks in and I use FFOF soil and have use the Fox farm dirty dozen nutrients kit at the moment. I have to GDP/gelato crosses and two blue cheese I’m popped today and put in soil.

Run off figures is a good way to tell when to feed.
