AGING your harvest?

Ok
… ive been reading here and their about “aging” 1st you DRY, then you CURE, then you “AGE” never heard that around before. Is it a new concept withcanibus or am i still learning basics???

Probably just a different word for curing. “Aging” itself isn’t necessarily a good thing as trichomes oxidize over time, converting THC to CBN (the sleepy cannabinoid.)

I wrote a post on this process and how to mitigate it here:

Very interesting, i reading i have found states AGING as a distinct and seporate process. But…may explain some results ive expieranced latey. After about 7/8 monts my LA Comfidential seemingly mormfed into some put you to sleep chit if you weren’t carefull. Now at 10 months (in grove bags BTW) it has continued and gotten kinda stupid…if u smoke any more in the morn than a couple hits (2) twice in an hour. im going for a nap for sure. It is a 80/20 hybrid.

Is the THC turning the CBN a bad thing in potency comparison? I always wait for 10% Amber and I always cure for over a year it’s all been fire. Just wondering if it’s more beneficial to take when it’s all cloudy rather than waiting for 10% Amber?

It’s just a matter of taste. Go for more amber if you want the sedating effect, but recognize that if THC is your preference, THC goes down over time as it oxidizes into CBN.

That very well be my expierance right there. But if it is OH GEE i guess i will just have to put up with my chit getting better and better at least as far as the stone goes! LMAO! Just not quite as healthy…RIGHT!

That’s peak potency with maybe .5-1% amber starting to trip. Those will continue to age after the chop. It’s all about personal taste though.

That is why i freeze my flower.

Freezing helps with the volatile trichomes as well as volatility is reduced as temp is reduced.

Makes sense. All “AGING” of wine, tabacco ect. Is all about TEMPERATURE and HUMIDITY!

Do you wait for it to room temp before smoking or go right from the freezer?

Are you talking about freeze drying? If not what is your process

I freeze inn mason jars and warm up before use.

warm in a separate mason jar or just open air?

I must pull one out and set it on the counter until warm. Handling frozen flower will damage trichomes.
