Organic Soil grow 1 gallon pots to harvest
Was a challenge but a great learning experience

Good luck with the coco grow in gallon pots

@Skydiver, those pots look bigger than one gallon. These are the one gal fabric pots I’m using currently.

They were 1 gallon fabric pots slightly shorter and wider than what you used
Still haven’t dumped some of them out to recycle
There was also a 7 ? Gallon pot in there but majority were 1 gallon

Well that is beautiful and you only used 1 gallon pots? How much of a yield are you expecting?

I’m not really sure, but they’re only on day 25 so they still have a couple of weeks of veg and then a stretch to go through so I’m expecting them to get pretty large! I’m doing the one gallon thing as an experiment. I usually grow my autos in 5 or 7 gal and I typically get monsters.

Here’s a link to my current journal with the 12 girls in 1 gal pots and 6 girls in 7 gal pots.

It’s a little early to predict the final results, lol, but I certainly wish you the best of luck! With the proper care they definitely have the ability to impress!

Lol ok thanks
I’m doing ā€œbudgetedā€ grow experience to see how tight I am at growing. I have been through a few grows but haven’t had the opportunity to complete them so I wanted to try something different. What lights and wattage are you using?

Im my 4 x 6 closet grow I have an HLG Scorpion Diablo. In my 2 1/2 x 5 tent I have an HLG 350R and currently I also have a 300Rspec in there because there’s 12 plants, and in my 2 x 4 tent I also have an HLG 350R.

Relocated to their new home! All are happy with more space and brighter lights. I have 4 GDP, a line through to connect them. 2-3gal, 1-5gal, and 1-7 gal. All sprouted a planted at the same time.

After a few more days the 5gal seems to be doing better to me even though the 3 gal seems to be fuller. As a matter of fact I already FIM the 5 gal. Waiting for the 3 gal to push that node a little high.

That was my point. With a small sample size the results may have a plant or two under or over perform. Doing this experiment with clones or a larger amount of seeds would yield more accurate data. However I think its a great thing to try and am watching to see the results.
Carry on!

You can still gather a little data. Like for instance the medium for all pot sizes are the same. But all the black pots are 3 gal. With the exception of two on the right the top plant and the bottom are about 7 days behind all of them. With that information look at all the other black pots, even being different strains are full and thick. The ones in the 7 gal lighter pots are looking the same. Basically 2 in the middle, strawberry banana and GDP look the same and the lighter color bottom is the 5gal GDP. Just noting that it’s not overly bushy and is getting good height. I feel like the 7 gal will do the same eventually. But all the 3 gals are bushy no matter the strain at this point.

How many watts do you typically use to grow at least one pound?

In my closet grow the Scorpion Diablo is never on more than around 75% give or take, so the wattage used would be about 450 to 500 watts and I get on average 1 1/2 to 2 pounds per grow from 4 plants in there.

On a typical grow the 350R is at around 80% in the 2 1/2 x 5 tent, so figure it’s drawing about 300 watts, and I usually see about 1 pound per grow with 2 plants.

Same usage for the 350R in the 2 x 4 tent, but I typically select the 2 smallest plants of the group for in there because it’s the smallest of my 3 grow spaces. I usually get around 10 to 12 ounces from 2 plants in there.

Well here we are at 28 days 4 week update. To me the 5 gal is doing the most and the 7 gal is doing the least. The 3 gals took off but once they hit 3 weeks growth patterns stagnanted a little. But the 5 gal is trecking along. 4 of the same strain of GDP to track on differences and multiple pot sizes for overall consistency. Only one is in a 5 gal and structure wise is blowing them all away. Red line through the GDP.

Day 17  I have a marijuana plant

I’m expecting a yield of 6-7 ounces. What do you all think? And how long should I keep this vegging? 4 weeks? 6 weeks? 8 weeks?

I like those 3 gal though. How much do expect from those?
