No you do not need a tent or any special equipment. The process can be as simple or complicated as you want. I take cuttings, prepare them, dip them in root hormone and stick them in coco or peat.
I have them under a 65w veg spectrum light
this is 6 of the clones 3 months later. I miscalculated when I could move them into my 3x3 and they have grown much more than I wanted. Oh well. With a little pruning and super cropping I should be able to make them fit.
