4 1/2 weeks into first grow, nute questions and am I seeing pistels?

Yep. Usually about midway through flower, I might give one of two feedings with some, but the last couple times have been almost solely on 4/2

I’m gonna try that. I like the “less is more” approach

Just an update, and would love to hear any feedback…

Eagerly awaiting my new Apera (this one BETTER calibrate! Grrrr! Lol) because, after combing thru a bunch of grow diaries, other forum posts, etc, it seems like I am dealing with a slightly too-high PH and, funny enough, a slight wind burn. I have 2 small fans and one was blowing directly on the plant with the worst of the clawing. I turned the fan, and (even though it was only the stupid drops) tried to get the PH around 5.7 on my last mix of jacks and the curling improved slightly overnight.

Woooord. I had to get a new Apera about a year ago, mine did the same thing. I knew for a fact that my pH hit a certain point and, even in calibration solution, it was reading .1-.15 over. No problems since, with the new one. I think the high fertigation method is more suited for bigger grows. High intensity lights and CO2 and all the bells and whistles. I’m not saying stop using it or anything. I’m just more of a KISS guy (keep it simple stupid). Feed once in the morning then go lol

I definitely see what you mean about being suited to the bells and whistles type of grow, but, funny enough, it was you and a couple other ppl convincing me of how simple Jacks is to use that made me think the cocoforcannabis approach would be pretty “KISS”. And thus far it really has been. The mildness of Jacks has given me leeway in my feeding (shocked at how lite I am feeding! My EC is 1050 - that’s, like 30% strength!) the whole cal-mag issue with liquid nutes in coco made it feel like I was gonna be trying to balance 2 separate nutrients or something, so the simplicity of jacks and the ability to so easily tweek it has been pretty simple.

The clawing could be from excess nitrogen. Try backing your ppms to 800. Autos are finicky about nutes and getting the nitrogen backed off now will help out during flower.

Jack’s is really simple lol. And cheap. I’ve bought 2 of the 6lb kits on ebay in 2 years. So about $32 making it a year ain’t bad.

My ppm’s are already at 525. My EC is 1050, been backing it down since my runoff has been 400+.
Just got my new PH pen and mixed some new nutes for the next feeding @230 pm. Diluted these down to 1000 EC. It blows my mind that Jacks at, roughly, 1/4 strength is still more than they want.

I’ll keep you updated. My plan is to fertigate @ 1000 EC (or 1.0 if you prefer) and PH @ 5.7 for the next 2 days, see what happens.

Also, not sure if you noticed, but I had a small fan pointing directly at that plant 24/7 and last night I turned it towards the wall and that seemed to help.

In every other way she looks happy and healthy and she is starting to grow fast, hoping that this is just a combo situation of slight wind burn and my PH being a little high, which contributed to uneven nutrient uptake.

I’ll take some new pics at the 11pm feeding and update u. Hopefully it’ll be starting to resolve itself!

Thanks so much, I REALLY appreciate you all!!!

 Thats the one I got too!..I’m happy with it and the switch from Jacks ,to me…seems to be making a difference…Since I`m outdoors in fabric pots I really don’t have a lot of run off…I’m wondering if someday I may get a pen to see where I am…I dunno? Some members swear by reading run off some say ehh? Now that’s with my outdoor fab pot set up…I know for hydro or indoor its different.

I’ve backed my EC down to 0990. I was (shooting for 1000 and I diluted a smidge too much, lol.
After getting my new Apera in the mail, I’ve been able to get my ph corrected. Did a “mini flush” to bring down my runoff EC as well, and now my runoff on both plants is below the 300 pt increase that is suggested in HFF.
Plants are back to looking happy, though.
It really does seem that the week w/o a PH pen when I was trying to use those stupid drops was the main issue. At least I hope so, lol
