3 plants, , 3 different strains - pool their trim to make hash, or process each one separately?

When you make hash from different strains, how much of the individual properties of each strain are “preserved” in the hash?

In other words, if I have trim from 3 plants of different strains - presumably with different psychoactive properties - would it be better to make a separate batch of hash from each one, or to pool them and manage one batch of “hybrid” hash?

If you want to preserve strain specific properties, then yes. All cannaboids (THC, CBN, CBD,…) are contained in the plant’s trichomes. Each strain’s terpine profile is also in contained in the plant’s trichomes. Terpines are responsible for each strain’s unique taste and smell.

What you are doing when performing extractions is separating the plant’s trichomes from the plant material. It is those trichomes that drive a strain’s properties such as %THC, %CBD, taste, smell, and the other properties we all like so much.

My personal choice would be to make 3 individual runs. You can always make a hash salad later on.
