1st grow in flower (w/ pics)

These ladies have been to heck and back! Bubblegum fem photo from an online bank and rando blue dream female photo from dispo bag. They had taken a shat on me somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd week of veg (more detail in prior posts). Went on vacation for 3 weeks before I could totally get them back on track and left my roomie to water them and eventually begin their nutrient regime (Jacks 321).

I kissed them farewell and left it to the Gods and when I got back they were much bigger but also still shatting. One was in the dang old bathroom having apparently been infested with spider mites.

I put the blue dream back into the tent shortly after returning

(7 weeks 6 days into veg, Blue Dream left Bubblegum right)

I began feeding them 50% jacks and had the mites return. I used 2 applications of cold press neem twice and a rosemary/mint/etc solution twice. The plants took it especially hard after the first treatment, as well as had seeming deficiencies and/or burns (9 weeks 1 day into veg)

Slowly but surely I steered the ship back on course. I held them in veg until I could get them to good health and on a routine. I had to do quite a bit of defoliage in this whole process. I didn’t want to over stress the plant or keep them in veg too long, so a lot of the defoliating I did was heavy on the snipping of already decaying or burned leaves. I was gone for much of the early training portion but I had topped the bubble gum and bent over the main cola of the blue dream. I flipped at 9 weeks 6 days into veg

(1 week in flower)

Switched to Jacks bloom boost for the first 2 weeks of flower. Only did one more defliage at the 2nd week of flower

(2 weeks in flower)

Switched back to Jacks 321. Got just about everything on track with my ppm and ph control. I started adding mammoth silica when I switched to flower. I’ve tried to late stage train these hoes as best I can but the fatty colas rise above the rest. I plan to hit them with some jacks finish a few weeks before harvest. With these strains I’ve read 8-9 weeks for flower. This is my first grow though so I’ll have to judge at what stage they are really.

(Day 20 in flower)

Thats all folks! If you’d like to input anything feel free or just check out this first grow!

What an amazing save bro! They look fantastic! You’d never know how grim they looked compared to now. That’s awesome man!:call_me_hand:

Thanks man! They were so poopy I actually didn’t expect they’d make it at one point. It took a lot of will to not over defoliate and wait the 7-10 days between mite solution spray. I’m hopeful I’ll get some actual smoke off these now!

What’s crazy is looking at your pics , mine just took a turn for bad yesterday. Look identical to what yours did. I’m in the process of correcting it now.

I think you’ll get some awesome smoke bro! Your plants now look great , like they never missed a beat.

I’m growing in soil, originally FF ocean with some added perlite. What I found helped getting them on track was cutting down the nutes and easing them back into a higher amount as well as feeding less water but more frequent feedings. I would only give each a quart for while but could then feed them in less than 36 hours without over watering effects. I think the silica helped a lot and I only used cal mag one feeding. Now I give them way more a half gallon at each feeding at about 36 hour intervals give or take.

Yeah I over did it with the nutes since I flipped to 12/12 two weeks ago. I think it was the MPK boost that I’m doing with Jacks 321. Tomorrow is straight water to see what the ppm and ph values out are and go from there lol.
I’m in ocean forest as well. Will be switching to some type of hydro next grow. Seems like it’s easier to monitor and fix issues faster.

Haha we are the same man I only started these soil plants because I was waiting for my autopot setup to ship. Now its been in my room and I cant wait to harvest these so I can get started on it. Best of luck to you with your plants man they are far from kicking the bucket!

My concern with this is unintended consequences. One being nutrient / salt build up in the soil if you don’t have adequate runoff. Another is soil needs to dry moderately between water / feeds.
I think Jack’s may have been the bacon savior here and not your watering practices. Jack’s is very mild and well tolerated. The good thing is they recovered and look good.

Hello question what is your assessment of Jacks 7-15-30 Finish as you mentioned during the last stages of flowering?

Thanks!
