WW Autoflower- Is it Time?

My first grow. Seedlings in the ground on Valentines day. Trichromes look cloudy. Pistils turning mostly brown. Fan leaves turning yellow and dying off. Is it time? And what is the dark period prior to harvest i just read about? Any advice appreciated. Also, I guess I could do a partial harvest? All plants started at the same time, but 2 or 3 still look way too early.

You still have young pistols… she needs more time to mature…
3 days darkness prior to chopping is what they say…

I think you still have a ways to go. Flowering generally takes about 60 days. Flowering for auto flowers usually happens 6-10 weeks from sprout.

Do you have scope or 50x magnifier to look at the trichomes. You want them all milky and some Amber’s depending on how you like it.

Thanks for the assessment. I need a magnifying glass with more magnification. Mine is like 5x. I can close one eye, squint and move it about to focus. Then the fan oscillates breezes by. LOL. They look milky, but no amber. I will invest in a better means of examination. Thanks.

Good morning @garrigan62 Will…in those pics, the second looks mostly clear and that one is “near perfect”…the third looks mostly cloudy and that one says it is “almost there”…

is that right?

And a good morning to you sir…here is my take on you question …

  1. When the bulbous heads of the trichomes are fully developed but still translucent, plants will produce a “high” and stimulanting effect, less sedative. It is the perfect moment to harvest strong Indica strains.

  2. When these bulbous heads turn milky is probably the best moment to harvest most available hybrids.

  3. When 70% of these trichome heads are milky and 30% amber, it is the perfect time to harvest mostly Sativa hybrids and long flowering strains (like Haze). It is also the best moment to harvest plants for making hashish.

Thanks for clearing that up for me on the different stages for the different indica and sativa strains. I have used a general “it’s cloudy it’s ready” and will try more stages of development for different strains!

Thanks again for the great support. I’m growing white widow autoflower purchased from this wonderful site (ILGM). Since this is a hybrid, and looks to be indica dominant, maybe it is close to time for harvest? I can wait, but it appears milky. I will try to take a magnified shot and get your final opinion. Thanks.

Hey brother. I just finished up a white widow auto just about as mature as yours. I wanted a more sativa high so I ended it then. The buds were perfect for running around all day. Hope you have a bountiful harvest and good health my friend.

I forgot to mention it actually had some nice indica quality was well. Laying down would bring on a nice body high :dash::dash::+1:

Here are a couple closeyps with the smartphone and magnifier app. Gonna have to get a loupe online. Can’t find one local. Anyway, to me, one looks done (grown under an old aquarium halide light with red LED supplement at bloom) and the other needs to grow a bit more (grown under LED the whole time).

Good morning…I followed @garrigan62 's #2 and #3 for my first WW Grow and have 2 disntinctly different highs to enjoy. #3 for me definitely great pain relief but makes me just sort of quietly withdraw and hang solo, #2 more social, YMMV.

Welcome to ILGM and happy growing, your plant looks great :seedling::nerd_face::peace_symbol:

@Dusboblaze

Thank you for toughs kind words. I would like to add you to my journal. You could add some of your knowledge of growing auto’s
