Huge wind storm here in western WA state yesterday. About a third of the branches of my two 5-ft plants (Sundae Driver and Bubble Gum Kush) broke off about a month short of maturity. Covered with buds, all small transparent trichomes. Should I hang to dry and test the buds for potency in a couple of weeks or just cut up the buds and trim and make oil for edibles (and hope that there’s some THC present). Any opinions?
If clear no where near what you need
My opinion is go ahead and give a try at smoking unless they are way immature but I’m betting that edibles be all you will probably be able to get from it
Your general tone gives me the idea that they were nowhere near being ready
Yep, no where near. Bummer.
@newbieWA Any pics of the breaks ?
I’ve seen some pretty bad ones make it till harvest after tying them back up with some honey on the break.

Yes please post pictures we may be able to help you repair the damage
Did that to one of mine couple days ago. Never noticed the split stem, couldn’t figure what was wrong. Been 2 days since I honey taped her up
Was split for a while too…she looks so much better
The branches had completely sheared off from the plants. So, I hung them off the deck and hosed them down to get the dirt off. I also attached a photo of the buds. Can’t reattach, so wondering whether to dry for smoking or put fresh buds/trim into the coconut oil in the slow cooker to make edibles. Good to know about the honey/tape option for partially torn branches!
I’m guessing that would be your preference. Personally, I’d dry and smoke and thank mother nature for the taste of what’s to come
Cause we all know how hard it is to wait !!
They are hanging in the closet with the shades drawn and the fan on!
