Wills 1000w CREE COB LED light- Anyone have experience with this light?

One of those 260xl would be perfect for your 4x2. Return the blurple if you can.

@Hellraiser so $330 is for two and I just need one board?

@Stickyickyick You get two boards. I use the 260xl rspec because the heat sink is 35ā€ long. So I have 2 for a 4x4. One is good for a 2x4 tent. :+1:

@MrPeat @Hellraiser okay perfect! Thank you for your help guys. So just to be 100% clear that kit with the two boards for $330 is the right one for me? I just don’t want to flub another lightning situation

Lol sorry if I’m being redundant

If you have a 2’x4’ tent then you just need to place 1 light order. They come with 2 QB288’s with also a 35ā€ long aluminum heat sink.

You will be very pleased what these HLG lights can do. Last crop I have over 27 oz dried, cured and no stems.

That is or should be the one you want. Either 3,000K or 3,500K.

And you won’t ever have to turn it up all the way either. Your grow room was never so quiet either haha.

@Silverback well said: I changed out 1,420 plug watts for 720 watts (peak) of gucci strip lights and two things happened: my electric bill went down $60/month and my yields all went up. Never turned em up past 600 watts total (200 per panel).

You will not regret getting QBs. I can almost use another 260 my self

I just found it online at growbuds. It’s showing a 4000k at no price difference :man_shrugging:

I would get warmer cct, 3000k or 3500k like @Myfriendis410 said.

I just ordered the 4000. I assumed that was better :man_facepalming:

That’s why I said this. It will flower but you might want to look at some supplemental reds before you get there.

That or maybe cancel your order if you just placed it. I would choose my 2700k over my 3500s for an all round light. It is your money and you decision when it is all said and done though

Damn so the 3000 is better than the 4000? What is the difference exactly?

Basically. The lower the number. The better for flower. And the higher number is better for veg. more blue light in a 5500k vs a 2700k. the 2700 has more red. The 3500 is a good balance of the 2. My 260 lights are 3500 and my 320 is a 2700k

One 2x288QB with a four 4x35w cobs and 10 far red osrams both DIY in a 4x4 2.5 weeks into flower

The QB’s work pretty good.

It’s the ratio between blue and red wavelengths. The 4000k 80cri is little better veg spectrum.

It will still grow weed though. If you want to try and see how you do, you can always add some 660nm strips and small driver later if you want.

Lmao Every time I think I’ve figured one thing out I realize there’s 5 more things I need to learn. You guys are amazing though! Couldn’t do it without everyone in this forum!!

I’m another blurple & COBB victim. I have 2 tents and I got a HLG 260xl and it’s amazing. I am running the full cycle with both tents with the same strain, so we will clearly see the difference between the two. In the future, I plan on vegging with the blurple/cobb, and flowering with the HLG.

Also, don’t get discouraged about having to build the light. It took me about 45 minutes to put it together, but would have only taken 20 if I had any electrical experience.

Check out my grow journal if you want to follow along and see the difference.

FWIW, cob’s can be really good. Cob stands for chip on board, its basically a description of how the module is designed. Like every other type of led module, there are good and not very good at all. To diy a nice cob light you would be looking at about $1 per watt to start, pushing $2 per watt for cool running light with really good coverage. Something like the kits from rapid led or timber grow lights, really not a huge gap in performance. But once again, you’re not getting them cheap either.
