White Widow Fox Farm OF

Been growing in straight soil (Fox Farm Ocean Forrest) and straight distilled water. She hasn’t had any nutrient issues. In a 20 gallon tub, just flipped to flower. Should I add a bloom booster to her water, or just continue to trust the soil? I don’t want to burn my baby. I can’t wait to get more experience with this stuff.

No. A complete nutrient product such as Jacks 321 should be used.

Feed as necessary to maintain a runoff PPM of ~1,000.

Ocean Forest usually has enough nutes for about 6 weeks. I usually start adding dilute nutrients a little earlier than that and watch how the plant reacts.

I’m going to add that “bloom boosters” should never be used. The NPK ratio in a prepared, complete product such as Jacks 321 is more than sufficient PK to get the most out of a plant. All bloom boosters do is screw up the NPK ratio of the runoff you are measuring, which can lead to a nitrogen deficiency if managing to runoff PPM. Most of these bloom booster products are salt-heavy synthetics that lead to a salt buildup in the root zone, submarining your runoff pH. Nutrient uptake will be compromised when pH is out of range.

Thank you all so much

With this quantity of soil the nutrients will last longer than the typical 4-6 weeks. Are there holes in that tub for drainage? Once you start using synthetic nutrients you’ll need to feed to run off to prevent the salt build up which can quickly tank the medium PH. I would suggest placing that tub on a riser and place a catch pan under the riser to catch and test the run off and immediately discard the run off. Organic amendments don’t require run off but the vessel still needs a means to drain :love_you_gesture:

there are drain holes, I’m still trusting the soil and straight distilled water (bottled), and she is a happy girl. One week into 12/12 mode. And yes, I do need to place her on a slight riser to ensure better drainage. Thank you. Here’s her latest cam shot…

Add calcium on water days Grow Bro. Very minimal amount in the medium and none in the water you’re using :love_you_gesture:

@HarvestBudsTillIDie welcome to the forum…good people here. I was assuming OP had started nutes…but maybe not. @Ravenharmoni ?

I just added a little flower fuel, but that’s it. The super pot came through.

Just 20 gallons of good soil and clean water. I just added a little flower fuelthis week for curiosity. Might have been a stupid move, but it was just a third of the recommended dose.
