When i hear UK the last thing i think of is summer haha. The last job i had here in Aus we were literally working in 47°C weather and i put in my resignation the next day!
The main difference was cleanliness, i had a lot of random ass bugs and shit in my indoor grow with the shitty compost i had. Where as the coco was more ‘‘professional’’ . I think my first compost grows yielded me about 2oz per plant and then the coco was about 3oz per plant but the main differance was the time, the coco plants probably lived for 13-14weeks total where as the compost grow plants were pushing 16-17weeks. So it was really the rate of growth which was the main factor.
As for your nutrients i dont think they would work too well for coco. I’ve got a ‘‘veg’’ growth A + B formula, and a ‘‘flower’’ A + B formula, so 4 bottles in total and i add equal parts of veg a + b to get my desired EC or PPM value, and same with the flower stage stuff. For the value of investment on the correct nutes for your medium its really a no brainer to just get what is specially made for your medium , but thats just my two cents !
Yeah i did see on the news that you guys had some really big heat waves… hahaha. I haven’t been over to the UK yet myself, but most of my family came here from over there and they all say the same thing about the miserable weather over there so i might be biased and take their word for it haha.
Yeah this canna coco is by far the best coco ive ran with, i started with the cheapest coco from the local bunnings which did the job and was nicer then the compost, and then the next grow was a step up with coco i bought from a real hydroponics store House and garden it was called. But this time i went to a different hydro store and the guy literally told me that this canna coco is the best stuff around, it dries out faster it holds the nutrients better and that i didnt need the perlite - the perlite is only added to shit coco so they get better air. I went for the perlite just so i could stretch out my coco because 2x50 L bags of coco was about 10L short of my estimated total, so i added in the perlite because im a tight ass basically haha.
Wicked so how do you use this one brother? Do you use both a and b through out veg and flower? Like same measurements? Or is just a for veg and b for flower? I’m definitely going to order some this week!
Yeah I would take your word for it buddy the weather here doesn’t have a clue what it’s doing half the time been like autumn here for the last three weeks and we meant to be in mid summer
Yeah so just equal part veg A and equal part veg B. and the same with flower.
I would recommend getting a decent EC/PPM meter so you know exactly how much food you are giving them, its also handy to measure the run off - so the water that comes out after you have watered them, so you can see how much they are really eating ! pretty scientific but easy to do haha.
Yeah must be that global warming man, its been cold as here and ive got friends over in canada who are dying from heat. its all over the joint at the moment haha
Wicked thanks bro! I haven’t thought about ppm meter and run off etc lol, I have a ph meter to check my water ph which I get to bang on 6.5 with the nutes added and I’ve no problems so far This my first grow and I rushed into it and bought what I needed as they were growing so I’m learning as I go along lol but I have two seedlings both in coco and perlite not ready for nutrients yet so by the time I have ordered and received the canna nutes they should be ready to start their first feed may even have some spare time between receiving and feeding Possibly going to upgrade my light aswell, they’re under a cheap Chinese led I got off eBay cost me about £45 lol but she’s 2000w and doing the job for now, but I will be looking into upgrading The light also in the next couple of weeks
With the current ones in compost I’m under feeding them, as I’d rather them have deficiency than a toxicity lol, but I give them just under the recommended dose per litre, they look and smell pretty healthy besides the odd rusty bit on the odd fan leaf finger, but that was old growth I did a light flush on her and it didn’t happen again after that
Yeah pH is really the main issue with coco, if its not in the right pH it doesnt matter how many nutes your giving the plant only certain nutrients are available at certain levels, so really its more important to have your pH on point then your PPM or EC.
Yeah those chinese Ebay lights talk the talk but im not sure they walk the walk, i ordered an extra tent the other day and it included some chinese LED lights aswell as the tent, fan and carbon filter so itll be interesting to see what the light is like. Itll probably just be a back up because the package deal was still cheaper then a tent + exhaust system from other joints.
Yeah if you feed them on the lighter side always that gives you the knowledge to know what to look for, your plants look great so doing the same should work fine. Most people have issues when they try to change 2 or 3 things at once, because its just harder to narrow down the original issue or cause of the problem.
Yeah ph was my main worry from the beginning as I know our ph in our tap water is about 8 so other than the light and seeds and medium ph down and a ph meter was my first thing I ordered lol!
I started them originally outside but because of the dogs and the kids being ass holes I thought I’d just order a cheapish light that’s had a fair amount of good reviews and go with that so that’s what I did And it has had nothing but good reviews so I thought hell with it as it says it does veg and flower as it’s full spectrum But it’s only temporary until I get paid again then I’ll get a decent one and spend some half decent cash on one.
Yeah that’s it mate as a first timer I don’t want to keep killing plants to learn where I screwed up as I won’t really learn that way, so being very gentle with them let them tell me what they want rather than look For what they want and force It on them, if I get near an oz or so off each I’ll be more than happy for my first attempt! I’ve done no training what so ever on them accept the odd leaf tuck and done no defoliating either so we’ll see, what is your opinion on blooming boosters aswell? Do you use them and do you know how much difference it makes to the end product?
damn thats pretty high pH out the tap ! haha.
Well youve gone really well so far so it should come out well for you, id be suprised if you got any less then 1 oz a plant so you should be sweet.
I’ve only had 3 previous grows, so i havent done much outside just the basics, i might try some of that fancy shit like blooming boosters in the next grow, some of the big youtubers you see love the stuff but considering most of them get it for free it might be a little jaded. If my plants are happy and green i am too, so adding bonus stuff might give me a better yield but like anything if you add too much it might cause harm so im really not sure at the minute !
Yeah it is really high! Thanks dude makes me feel more confident hearing good feedback!
Yeah that’s the vibe I getting from it, it’s mainly people who are doing real proper grows to sell for medicinal use like Canucks grow and all those kinda growers I believe they’re do it for dispensaries and things like that, I might be wrong but that’s what I get from it So they probably more likely to use whatever makes better product and yield, where as people like are using it for personal reasons just a good tasting clean smoke is all we can ask of it really and not lining a drug dealers pocket full of our cash
Yeah, week 3 they stall a little. Just keep feeding them, they’ll bulk up. You may even get a second or third round of fox tails adding additional weight.
Some
People love’em, som hate’em.
Ahh good to hear thanks bro! I’ve had couple my friends say to “get boosters Otherwise you’ll end up with crappy little nugs” but I’m pretty sure that’s untrue i hope😆
