White widow auto coco grow deficiencies!

Hey guys, so I am about 2 weeks into my 1st attempt at growing autoflower white widow in coco coir. I’ve had quite a few ups and downs being my 1st grow. Not knowing much about coco coir I was treating it like soil with a dry out between watering. Luckily a few people here set me straight and I have been saturating every other day making sure there is runoff now. Also every watering I have been mixing sensi grow coco as recommended on the bottle. Only about a week into this cycle. But I seem to have some deficiencies. Odd yellowing of the leaves. A few of the newer leaves seem to be yellowing on the tips. And some curling and tacoing of leaves. Too much water/fertilizer? Or is it a light issue? I Am running vivosun VS 1000 for lighting at 24" above the plants as recommended by vivosun. Watering at a Ph of 5.8. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Yeah? Think they’re doing alright? Still feel like I’m watering too much.

I have not used the cal mag yet. Just got a bottle in the mail though. That is my next step. Didn’t want to over fertalize though. That sensi grow calls for alot. 16 ml per gallon daily. Does that sound right??

Look healthy to me. I’m not familiar with Sensi nutrients, but I feed/water daily in coco and to run off around week 3 when using amended coco. I’m assuming your coco is raw since you’re feeding nutrients. They look good, keep doing what you’re doing :love_you_gesture:

Honestly couldn’t even tell you much about my coco. Didn’t know much about it when thats the medium I decided to go with. I know now there is alot more to it then I thought. It Came a dehydrated brick from my local nursery. Probably not the best. I added perlite and some bat guano.

The reason I am feeding every watering is that is the recommended amount stated on the label. Seem like alot to me. 8 ml per gallon of both A,B 16 ml per gallon daily??

Also when you water daily do you saturate it? Something tells me I’m overwatering even though everything i read says daily lol.

I have one on order. A little confused on that as well. Looks like what I ordered tests water. Should I be testing soil or runoff? And what should my level be?

The one I have just tests the water not the soil I test the runoff and the water before I feed

Ok thats what I was figuring. And that pretty much tests the nutrients of the soil?

Yeah it tests what your putting in and your runoff should tell you if you are over feeding/under feeding

Sounds good! Thanks for the info!

Is that 2 weeks above ground for age of the plant? Great growers on here that use raw coco with added nutrients from seeding. I don’t feed or water to run off until I know the roots have become more established. Coco is basically hydro with a light airy medium and drains very well. I’m thinking PPM wise you should be around 500 and PH 5.8-6.0. You increase the nutrients by growth And checking your run off numbers. I’m tagging @AfgVet, she’s fantastic with amending Coco :love_you_gesture:

I don’t see any issues with the plant in the pics. At that age I water daily with nute. Also at that age I would not be worried about watering to run off. Some days I’ll give them enough for a little run off and other days not as much.

At the size of your plant, when in coco, it’s hard to over water. One of the benefits of coco.

I’m not familiar with the nutes you use though

They popped up October 25th so about 20 days old now. When we talk about run off. Never seems to be a little run off lol. I have 2, 3 gallon cloth pots. I’ve been watering a half gallon each usually. At that much there is no run off. In order to get run off I need to water at least a few more cups. At that point there is a good amount of run off. Like no in-between. But I’ve kicked around the idea of watering like every 3 days just to let it somewhat air out. I watered yesterday and the top looks just as wet. Feel like I’m soaking already soaked coco?

Ok thank you for the info. I am using sensi grow coco. I actually emailed thier advanced nutrition support center. And they say after 2 weekes they should be receiving 16 ml of both A,B daily. Seems like alot. But I guess I’ll give it a shot. The plants have gone through alot of changes early messing with humidity and temperature and not knowing much about coco. The yellowing of the leaves just had me nervous that I screwed something up already. So soaking the coco through everyday IS ok?
