Which of my plants to top?

I am a first time grower and am looking for some advice at this stage about pruning and topping. My girls are exactly 4 weeks today since their cracked shell were dropped into a coco soil mix. They seem pretty happy with their feeding and environment, but now I think it is time to start pruning and perhaps? Top some or all? I am not sure strain specifically what will benefit from topping as I do have space to go up or out… all are feminizecd purchased from ILGM except 1 femenized Mendo breath.

If you’ve never topped or fimed before give it a go with a couple it wont hurt anything you wont know if you like it until you try it lol

Your garden looks great! You’ve got a decent canopy there already, you might not even need to top really. Pick the largest fastest growing ones, that will give any smaller ones a chance to catch up a little.

Looking super healthy in there. I top once they hit the 5th-6th node let them recover and start LST. Are you going to SCROG these? If so you won’t need to top or fimm :love_you_gesture:

If photos pinch them tops off! You ain’t gonna hurt them
If autos I have no advice.

What size space will they finish / flower in? Amount of space available may impact training.
Nine plants are quite a few to manage.
One thing I see is the pots should be raised above the saucers unless they will always be bottom feeders. It is generally not a good practice for top fed plants to sit in their runoff.

If you top 1 of each strain you may get some good feed back for the future, if they have space enough to spread and grow. Looking good!

I have access to add another light to
Make more space to go outward, as well, I think they are 11’ ceilings in my space and my lights are on pullies So I have space….

That all seems kind of advanced for me. I topped the 2 of the 4 sativa dominant girls last night and maybe will try LST with one of them? Guess I am sort of experimenting???

I should have been more specific. Are you growing in a tent (Size HxWxL) or in an room which sounds like what you are doing.
In my opinion the most effective form for growing cannabis indoors is flat and wide. The thinking is - expose the light to as many square feet as the light will support. Support meaning the legitimate flower footprint.
Achieving flat and wide can be done with LST, topping, FIMMing, using a net and any and all combinations of them. Light can only penetrate a plant’s foliage so far and then become less effective. That is why flat and wide is better than tall.
If you let cannabis grow naturally it will usually grow tall and pyramid shaped. This is OK if growing outdoors with a moving sun. But not with a stationary overhead light.

how much floor space?
what lights are you currently using?
Additional lights you have access to?

Flat

Wide
