I have a 18 inch tall Northern Lights plant. How tall should my plant be before I begin to top it? Do I do just the tallest branch and/or all similar height branches??
HELP!!!

HELP!!!
Should I cut at the top growth location or at the topping cut location as should in the picture?
I have only topped on the 5th node.

Need other’s to reply as I’m not sure if I would even top at this point. How far along is she? 18" is pretty good growth
What is your goal?
Welcome to the community !
It’s not too late, but depends on when you intend to switch to flowering too.
Since I am new to this. I am assuming that by topping it will increase production?
Not necessarily, but that’s one rationale behind pruning the meristem. One drawback is that you’re going to slow the plant down a little. But the plant is going to put most of its energy into the top-most axial limbs.
What would you do next after cutting the apical meristem?
Are you reading any books or blogs about growing? Listening to any podcasts? Watching YouTube?
As previously mentioned, I am a beginner. I have absolutely no idea what you have asked about the apical meristem…
Didn’t notice this anywhere, is it a photo or an auto? I wouldn’t top a auto. I have FIM’ed auto.
Agreed a picture as well as Is it an auto or photo ide assume photo.
…topping leads to bud uniformity I gets rid of the French bread main cola and splits the bud production amongst its top contenders when you top a plant I usually tie all reaching branches down after a nice pinch and a bend to "knuckle branches at a sharp 90 degrees do just about every branch like that and you will have a nice even canopy and the plant will distribute energy evenly as long as light spread is even
I like my plants to look like thisI get it. I suggest you find some journals here from successful grows (failures are informative too) in spaces similar to yours, and with cultivars similar to what you’re working with.
Growweedeasy has some decent plant training guides, as well as other tutorials.
Welcome to the forum. at 18" right now. You are looking at a big plant if it is a photo. I agree. It now depends on if this is an auto or photo as to if you should be topping. How many weeks in are you?
@fano_man Are those in 2 gallon pots? They look pretty good
Good eye yes 2 gallons for those 2 @Not2SureYet
She sprouted dec 3. I transplanted her from her starter pot into a 5 gallon dec 30th. She seems to like it. Pretty sure she just past her 5th node. Her branches look very young and tender still. This is ok to top? ILGM Feminized Blueberry. She is in organic soil.
Go to YouTube and watch supercropping/pruning/topping cannabis watch and read as much as possible.
Your doing great it’s all about the spread and allowing light penetration
