Topping help! Asap

Well, i think i made my first big mistake today but wanted to come here for insight before i start beating myself up too much… i decided it was time to top my girl again tonight… i accidentally got confused by the bushiness of the plant and i topped one of the branches from the second to top node… what is going to happen here? I decided that if i had done damage it was done already and went ahead and topped the two main stems as well. Will it top the same as the main stem or did i make a big mistake? I know cannabis is pretty resilient but i just feel like mistakes were made tonight, please help me out here!

Pictures would surely help but i think you’ll be alright honestly

Ill grab some pictures in a minute here, ive been researching and feeling a whole lot better about it already, but real time input from other growers is still always good! Give me a minute on those pictures!

Im trying to get you some better quality pictures, atleast i did the topping as you are supposed to. Just not on the node i meant to do it on lol

Oh yeah your good mate. Just gonna get 2 branches from those spots. If you get a chance check out @Arrow and @MidwestGuy posts. They have some great training going on and ive learned with and from them

No worries at all. Can top every side branch if you want. Will just produce 2 colas. Clone every clipping if photo is what i do.

Thats the conclusion i was coming to, just up until this point, i had thought of topping as taking off the tip top of the whole plant itself and i just freaked myself out for a minute! Lol thank you guys, i guess ive technically topped my plant 4 times now then!

I usually fimm over top. If I am looking to fill a 3x3 with 1 girl i fimm every branch.

Ive thought about fiming, but have always just ended up doing the full topping, this will be my final topping with this plant though, i will be flipping to flower in 2 weeks!

I went ahead and took the other three tops. I feel like this plant has been an absolute BEAST of a first grow and im confident she can handle it. We are in week 5 of 7 of veg! Ill keep updated on progress

Your plant looks great! Im sure you’ll get positive results with some training

Be prepared to give the branches support. Double tops get very heavy. I use bamboo stakes. Others suspend with fishing line or train into a net. She will blow up now.

I have been focusing hard on training, i have been supplimenting silica to help strengthen everything up, i will continue to work on training, im excited for this beast to take off, shes already been exploding with growth since the start, attached are a photo from one week ago and a photo from two weeks ago. Gonna be crazy to see what having another 6 heads growing will be like

It can be but not solely. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I’ve cut clones back several nodes from the tip to better maintain size and shape.
This manifold grew to six nodes and topped above 3.

This quadline I think I let grow to 7 and topped above the 5th.

@beardless this is my second time topping, i topped the main stem a few weeks ago, and I just topped the tip of all 6 branches, so it sounds like im gonna be looking at a pretty massive plant by harvest time?

Twelve is a good number.
That is how many this plant is supposed to end up with. Picture taken when she was flipped on day 57.

The frame is about 31" at its widest points.
If you zoom in you can see all of the growth tips except of course the last one have been pinched.

Plants of the same strain can grow very differently. This is the same strain on day 56. Its growth is much more compact that its sister plant. It is also pruned to have 12 colas
