Hi Everybody!
I have a question on when to switch to flower? Based off the height I have in the tent, how far it will need to be from the light, and assuming it’ll roughly double in size… I figure I need to switch it when it reaches 16-18” tall.
I’m on day 36, trying to make it to 50 or 60 but we’ll see if height allows.
I have been performing LST and tying the plant down. Right now from the dirt up I have it at 10”. But if it weren’t tied down it’d probably be 18-20” or so.
My main question is, what height to go off of? Total height or LST height?

I go by total height while tied. I keep it tied into flower and most way through stretch.

Because currently it’s 10” up from dirt. If I weren’t to have tied it down, it’d be 18” or so.
I’ve read that they almost double when you first switch them from veg to flower. So I don’t know if it would grow another 10” or grow another 18”.
Height now well into flower.
Depends on strain as well.

Wow, yours look great!
I have purple haze and banana kush from ILGM. They’re all about that size. I have heard indica dominant doesn’t stretch as much when you switch over to flower. But since I haven’t grown these strains before I just planned on them doubling in size to be safe.
Based off your pictures, I think I can keep going in veg. I just can’t really let them get more than 36” (final height), so trying to plan for that.

Just out of curiosity, how old was your plant you have pictured when you switched it to flower?
Go off the trained height. Other techniques like SCROG might be good too.

I’d assume they’ll stretch a good 12”, and flip when you have 14-16” of room for them to grow (just in case).

@ahuff774 I didnt count veg time. It took longer because of an accidental topping lol. Snapped main off but oh well. I bandaged her with silver duct tape. It’s her jewelry.

This Is off the original topic. But I noticed you look like you lollipoped her, do you like to do that the last few weeks of veg or the first few weeks of flower?
I pull most fan leaves a few weeks into flower.
Ifs that’s lollipop lol
If its stripping the bottom 1/3 I do that day I switch to flower. And anytime something tries to grow low after that I cut it off.
