Last year tried few outside but seen milky dew on the leaves… so this year I want to make sure they’re treated from the start. However when is a good time to plant outside in Missouri? What sprays do I need and how often do I spray? Trying to prevent bugs and pwd on my plants. Also do I spray all the way to flower and stop at beginning of flower? I don’t wash my buds as I don’t believe in that so I don’t want to be smoking chemicals sprayed on the buds. Please help a indoor hydro grower master a successful outdoor season
Are you wanting to plant the seed outside or do you want to start it inside and transplant?
In my area near Springfield the recommended “Safe” date is around April 15. The possibility of frost/freeze at that date is very low and you can look at the long range forecast and if it looks clear for the next 10 days then you should be completely safe. I just started some tomato seeds two days ago and plan to transplant April 15 if the forecast is clear. If not keeping them another week or 2 indoors will be the plan.
If possible I would suggest planting a few autoflowers as well to get an early harvest before the possibility of bud rot increases. At least you would get something. Fall temps and rains here in Missouri as well as high humidity can be a killer for cannabis buds. Each year is different. Might be dry, but could be rainy all month too.
Washing with plain water with Hydrogen Peroxide is completely safe and easy.
Peroxide is a reactive oxidizer. Oxygen itself is reactive and will kill small pests, molds and spores. But afterwards, even if some peroxide is leftover, it rapidly breaks down. And the good part is it breaks down into water and oxygen. The H2O2 molecule gives up its extra oxygen atom and you are left with H2O, water. So your buds are completely clean and will dry just fine. A Spinosad based bug killer works organically and will be fine even if not washed off. But again washing will remove any leftovers if that’s a concern.
Just my 2 cents.
Clones will be started inside as I always have plants in every stage . I’m outskirts of st.louis so guess in bout month should move outside that’s awesome… ill try the peroxide and water. Should I spray at sunset? Sunrise? Or dark?
I like to treat plants for bugs late in the day when the sun is not too intense.
