When to start LST? And advice 18 days in

@diz

I’ve actually heard that it IMPROVES the stem to break it like that . It sends hormones or something and makes it a superhighway.

There’s a great grower on YouTube who actually snaps EVERY section between EVERY node on EVERY branch. Claims it gives him 10% more than anyone else can get . Dude is smart as shit. Think he’s a botanist. His plants are amazing. But even I’m too scared to try that.

Did you say you did au naturale on your other grow? Did you do any leaf tucking or defoliation to expose the buds sone more?

Are you planning to LST this time maybe using tie downs, string, wire, something else?

Incredible. That’s why I love growing so much, sooooo much to learn!

I got it from Hellraiser. An exceptional grower that I have not seen much from lately. Now I mostly do manifolds so it is automatically part of the pruning.
The last auto I grew was in the summer of 20, a Jack Herer. It was not topped and was trained to follow the outside of the pot.

Kyle Kushman the plant chiropractor. Does he do with autos too?

I’m with you. Love to learn and get better.

My first grow last summer I just prayed to get 1 good oz. out of 4 plants and not kill them. All 4 lived …and I got 6.75 oz total.

Overconfident leading into my 2nd grow, cold temperatures in my basement made that grow ANOTHER learning experience. Learned more on that almost failed attempt than on the first one.

3rd grow is just gorgeous. My training is MUCH better and the plants look amazing.

Honestly, I love growing it. my biggest problem now is finding enough people to give most of it away. I use very little and have it coming out of my ears.

That’s funny. I have the same problem. I grow for my wife. I don’t even partake but really enjoy growing it. She won’t let me give it away because we are in an illegal state and she does not want any of our friends to know what my hobby is.

I give it to my neighbors, my daughter and son in law, their friends, my sister in law and her family, my friends and I even gave an oz. to a service technician as a tip who was at the house who did a good job… and I still have more than 5 oz left over to give away. And my 3rd grow will be ready to harvest in 6 weeks😳

My first grow was actually that same mix pack.

The Amnesia Haze was the tallest by far and the Blueberry was the shortest.

That is a great mix pack to be able to experience the huge differences in mental effects of sativa vs indica mix.

I use the Northern Lights in the evening before bed and then Amnesia Haze to get yard work done and enjoy the living shit out of doing it.

You might have to LST the Amnesia Haze a little more like I did. It really wants to climb the walls.

Good luck and please please tag me when you get ready to do your LST or have done it.

You’ve got this! It will be a great experience for you and you will thank yourself for doing it come harvest time! :grinning:

I’ve been working hard to learn the LST protocols too. With my autos, it seems like starting to train around wk. 3 or so. I start out very gentle – but do get aggressive sometimes. I have the red clips too and I like them – but they can be hard to use depending on the branch.

I’ve been using U-shaped stakes and like them a lot. They make it easy to bend a branch and then just place the stake over the branch to hold. I have 5 in and 10 in stakes.

Some of my gurus here, like @Retiredoldguy have also taught me about using pipe cleaners.

Would love to have seen the underside of that plant after chopping.

Bet it was a work of art!
