When to start and water to run off?

Plant
-23 days old from sprout
-Auto Flower
-Indoor
-Medium is Coco Loco by Fox Farms
-Have not fed any bites yet. Medium is amended and says to wait 3-4 weeks before feeding. Only used RO water with Si and CalMag. Ph @6.1 to 6.2

This is my first grow so my question may be a silly one. But I’m not sure if I should be watering until runoff? I’m not sure if the plants are big enough to do so yet. I watered a half gallon each on February 5th and I think I may have over watered them then. Plant leaves have been drooping ever since. They are 23 days old from sprout and I’ve included a couple pictures.

Water to runoff when the plant is capable of drying out the grow media in 2 to 3 days.

Just an fyi. Coco loco should be treated as soil. Ph to 6.5 for best results.
That said. Plants look good so far.

Those plants are ready to be watered to run off. I use Coco Loco often and set the PH at 6.3-6.5 and start feeding once the runoff is 800 or less and feed at 800-1000. I use jacks 321 at full strength and adding my water source TDS the final input PPMs are around 820ish :love_you_gesture:

When I water I check the waters ppm that runs out of the bottom of my fabric pots? Correct? I appreciate the help. I was not sure at three weeks if I should water until run off. Thanks again.

Very healthy looking plants and nice size for 3 weeks. Yes on the run off for these 2 and water in slowly until it starts running out the bottom. I grow in 3 gallon fabric pots and feed every 3-4 days in veg and around every 3rd day in flower. On feed days I mix by the gallon and feed to liberal run off…approximately 20-30% of what I’m feeding from the top. The Coco Loco is loaded with organic nutrients and I start a feeding routine once the run off hits 800 or less :love_you_gesture:

I really appreciate your help. You normally feed once a week? If my water source has a ppm of 100 before adding anything. Should I subtract that from my run off ppm number?

I feed every 3 days in 3 gallon pots, larger pots will take longer before feeding again. Coco loco is a blend compared to soil or straight coco. Soil likes a drench to drought routine with coco feeding daily. I picked a happy medium for coco loco and almost let it go dry as in barely damp. Best method to use is drench the pot with the run off mentioned and lift and feel the weight of the pot then lift the pot during the dry cycle to know when to feed again. What nutrient line are planning on using? If you haven’t purchased nutrients I would recommend Jacks 321, your water source TDS is a few points lower than mine and I don’t factor that. I feed full strength jacks every time :love_you_gesture:

I have the lotus nutrient line. Have not started to feed yet. Their feed chart shows the feeding weekly. Should I feed that full amount every feeding or lower the amount if I’m feeding 2 or 3 times a week? For example if it says 2 tsp in week 3. And I feed twice a week. Should I feed 1 tsp each time I feed. So in total the plant would get the 2 tsp the chart called for that week? Sorry if that is a silly question. I seam to over think things. Also do you ever water without feeding mites?

Yes, if your runoff from before is over ~1000 ppms. Next session would be a water only day.

I watered until run off today and my ppm is 500. I feed when it is dry enough to take more water? Thanks again for all the help.

Hey welcome to the community , It is a good choice to measure the nutes with a TDS meter after mixing much more accurate than a spoonful. Good luck :v:

I have not fed yet, my medium is Coco Loco and had enough nutrients in it until 3-4 weeks. I was watering until run off for the first time and was measuring with my tds meter. My runoff was 500. I need to feed nutrients for the first time now. My plants are just a little over 3 weeks old. Thank you for the help, I will definitely measure my mites before feeding. I’m so grateful for everyone’s help. I have much to learn. Thanks again.

Would I be considered still in vegetation stage or early Flower? Plants are 31 days from sprout.

I’m a newbie but as I understand, as soon as the pistils appear you are in flower. I’m on my first grow using white widow autos, my first pistils showed up January 15th. These pictures were taken this morning.

Definitely flowering

Plants look great. Thanks for the reply and sharing pictures.
