Amnesia Haze autoflower 74 days old:
I’m thinking I may have a few more weeks by reading other posts…I also ordered a digital microscope camera to check the trichome’s clarity. But wondering if I go by trichomes or the amber hairs or both?

Congrats on a great looking plant! Best advice I can offer is to use pistils (hairs) as an indicator of when to check trichomes. When you see the majority of pistils have turned color and are receding, then start checking your trichomes. From the pictures you have posted, I would say these are worthy of monitoring the trichs. I like to harvest with cloudy and small amount of amber trichomes. Too much clear and you will likely have a racy buzz.

Thank u! Should get the digital scope by Wednesday. I have 5 amnesia autos total and this plant is way ahead of the others, what’s the best way to harvest with them being ready at different times?

You way be able to take close up picture with smart phone and expand to zoom. Will ultimately depend on quality of camera used, nut mine is couple years old and plenty good enough. If not, I use a hand loupe. The digital models are nice, but not absolutely necessary.
If you feel like some of the tops are ready but other parts of the plant aren’t, harvest what is ready at end of dark period. Then hang to dry in a different location.

You will love the digital microscope. I use a tripod to take on plant pictures. With the high level of magnification, it is impossible to get decent photos without one.

Try and find a jewelers loop around the house in the time being. Based on the hairs, they look ready. Looks delicious!

Ok, I’ve noticed the buds on the lower level have white pistols still prolly like 10/15%. So I’ll definitely try and harvest the tops first. I’ve tried to take close ups with my iPhone 11 but it didn’t do any good lol maybe I’m doing something wrong😂

Anyone have any idea what this might be?? Found on 1 Amnesia Haze plant. It’s had the same Nutes and schedule as all the others and the other 4 are doing very well no signs of any deficiency or stress so idk🤷♀️ As always thanks for the help!!!

I actually have the exact same thing on one of my plants currently. The other one is fine. Only on a few of the leaves though. Not all. I’m curious as to what this is too.

Can’t really tell much there, but the software limits upload file size too. So may look a lot different on your end.
Without having any other information, I would say it appears you were calcium deficiency or lockout. To have some plants show this and others not isn’t uncommon. Every plant can be a little different.

Ok good to know. I thought it might be something to do with calcium but I definitely wasn’t sure. As for the first plant above, these are the pictures of the trichomes with the digital microscope. I see clear and maybe some milky color but first time grower so I dk exactly what I’m looking at😂

Looks like you did an excellent job!
There are varying preferences on exactly when to harvest. But you definitely want to avoid harvesting while trichs are still clear. In a perfect world 100% cloudy/milky looking would be fully ripened. Hard to do that though, if you shoot for cloudy with small amount of amber you will be in good shape.
Make sure to be looking at trichs on the buds too, not the sugar leaves. The leaves seem to turn a little quicker.

We have all been there! You have come a long way and are entering the home stretch. Keep an eye on them, but don’t rush. Try to occupy yourself with making sure you are set for drying and curing process, you will be there soon.

Thanks it’s definitely becoming a labor of love lol, gelato and super skunk feminized next! Couldn’t of done it without the support here that’s for sure! I’ve been researching the harvest and curing process and that’ll take a few months right??

Not really. Depending on your environment, drying could take anywhere from a couple of days to maybe 2 weeks. I would like to say it would be pretty ideal if you could dry them slow enough for a 7-10 day dry. But you don’t want it to be too damp that you have mold issue. If your drying space is dry enough that stems become brittle in a few days, then you want to get buds in jars sooner than later. Once you have buds in jars they should be reasonable to smoke in a couple of weeks if burped properly. You can certainly cure them longer and provide more of a Connoisseur type experience, but that’s not what you typically get buying weed off the street. In fact, i would encourage you to at least sample some at around 2 weeks or so cure, then maybe a week later and so on. Try to leave at least a little to get a good 6-8 week cure and see the differences yourself.
If you have time, try to leave yourself some notes about drying conditions every couple of days. Your drying conditions will likely be a little different now than in middle of summer or winter. When you get to future grows it will be nice to compare what you did in the past and what kind of results were provided.

Oh sweet!!! The plants are in a tent and I plan to dry them in the bathroom (garage game room setup). I have a dehumidifier for the room but was going to shut the bathroom door and put another dehumidifier in there if need be. That way I can control the humidity easily bc I do live in a hot/humid state majority of the year, so constant a/c is a must too. I’ll definitely sample through the curing process as u said, that won’t be a problem at all!
I’ve pretty much followed the grow Bible to a T for my first grow as well as some advice on here and I have to say…I haven’t had any issues, luckily! Just the one plant showing the yellowing on the leaves, but I looked back in my journal and realized that same damn plant has always had a small spot of yellow almost looked metallic when it was in veg. stage so that’s kind of weird. I’ll definitely journal the curing process too, I write in my grow journal every day 2x a day, documenting every important detail and it’s been a lifesaver!!!
