Hello All! Welcome to my first grow journal. I have been so thankful for everyones help through this process thus far and can’t wait to see where this thing goes. Here is some basic information to start off (please send any tips or suggestions my way )

Placed in organic soil and had a sprout within 2 days. (Photos to come). I am currently waiting for more products to come in, which is taking forever due to Covid-19 I have improvised on my light set up and will post photos.

@xclu5iv thank you! First grow ever! Taking it day by day
Be careful on the over-watering, already see some signs of it, let the soil dry up before giving any more water.

@Hellraiser I noticed that yesterday. Was going to let it get bone dry, is this why the tips on the amnesia is browning?
Yes, the signs are a little droop, discolorations and irregular leaf edge growth, feel the weight of he cups, when it feels almost empty, then water.
@Hellraiser
okay I’ll wait some time before doing anything else
Love your lights, sweet setup.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if they were good but was told by Herehegrows on IG how great they were. Well worth the purchase! I know thats a big issue for first time growers was hoping to find the sweet spot! @Hellraiser

Yep, lights are the most important part of a grow, and you got that covered. I imagine you have them dimmed down quite a bit for the seedlings?

I’ve had them at 24 inches from the soil at 50% dimmed @Hellraiser. Do you typically increase during Veg? Sorry for the questions, first timer

I would increase the light as they get bigger. Even at 50%, it’s still way more light than your sprouts need right now, could probably even go down to 25% for the first week or 2 and still have plenty of light. Do you have a fan blowing air between the light and the plants?

@Hellraiser a forum friend thinks that they may have browned on the tips from possibly touching the soil… I think this maybe true. But also think everything is overwatered, was getting too excited for a bit Now I have a dry cup of soil on the side to compare my cups to. They aren’t overly watered but I was spritzing them every day, which @monkman warned me about. Bad Miranda

@Hellraiser no, I haven’t set up a fan yet. Been waiting for my fan and other products to come in from ordering. Thats why I have the temporary lights up at the moment Maybe I need to add that in. I do have a humidifier going and the lights and thats about it. Might put a standing fan infront of the plants, should I have it moving from side to side or just continuous air flow?

Yeah, possible, touching the soil, or a bit too much light and heat can cause the brown tips as well, Get some air movement going, helps keeps the plants cool, will help dry out the soil a little faster if overwatered and the movement strengthens the plant’s stems.

Haha my new messed up set up until all my stuff comes in. I have my fan set to low and have it going from side to side… will this cause issues for my humidifier on the dresser? Disregard my summer herbs and pumpkins hahaha @Hellraiser

That will work, just want the sprouts vibrating a little from the wind, not blown over.
