When do you consider day 1 of flower?

Per the title… I flipped my photos on June 14. I’m just trying to compare to what the breeder says and I’m 60 days from the flip. Of course I go by trichomes but In house genetics says sugar cane is a 60-75 day flower.

Sugar cane is on the left. Maui on the right. I noticed bud formation on June 30. I’m just curious.

And thx to all wife helped me previously. This has been my best grow.

I would advise against that. The breeder wants to sell you something and they have many many plants to choose for their subject. They also have professional, commercial equipment and botanists on the payroll to get those results. Consider their info as general info only.

It usually take about 1-2 weeks from flip for flowering to start. What I have heard the most and what I use is when I notice multiple white pistols from 3+ flowering sites you start your flowering weeks.

Flowering time is best estimate or the avg. time from theirs and testers grows. There will be ones that finish faster and some slower, but most should fall within that 2 week window.

From the look of your plants (look great btw) they have a decent amount of white pistols left that should darken up in the next weekish. Best advice I have heard is to look about 1/3 down the plant and check the middle of those buds. (Forget who said that on here)

Your picture shows some cloudy and a lot of clear to me, most wait for primarily cloudy with some amber to show up and the tri’s to start to lean/curl over. I like a decent amount of amber to mine.

Day 14 from flipping. Day 1 of flowering, or there about…

Like stated above, there’s an interval between flipping and first pistils forming. That said; a plant that’s not sexually mature won’t do anything until it is, regardless of the light schedule.

My current grow showed first pistils within about 5 days due to them being really ready. Generally though, it’s one to two weeks.

Plants look great, showing late foxtails which to me means it’s close to the finish line.

Need expert advice…. I am in flower 2 weeks all is well my lights on is 9pm to 9am … I left a 60 watt regular household light bulb on 8 hours when they were supposed to be resting. So it’s was 6 pm when I realized it and now it’s 8 pm and my cycle is about to start again. Should I skip a cycle or just leave it be. I only did it once and never again I’m taking the bulb out

Hi everyone, when do you make the call to change the lighting schedule from veg to flower?

I am far from an expert. I would just resume the normal light schedule instead of trying to adjust anything, would make more work for you and the plant probably isn’t going to notice much this early in flower.

I go by the look and size of the plant. When it is ready to flip the plant will show it’s sex:

At that point you can veg until you reach the size you want in your grow space, then go to 12/12. Plan on some stretch once you do.

From when they show their sex and not the light flip

Lol. Nice! What are you growing?

In back is a mandarin cookies ethos haze cross that was a freebie from nasc, in front is a grandmommy purp from herbies. I’m thinkin the cookies will be done in a week or so but the purp looks to be a month or more out. Starting to get itchy fingers though lol the waiting at the end kills me!

Add an update, I’m at 60 days from when I first noticed buds forming. Yeah, they’re packing on weight and still not read yet.

Hmm, never made it this far before. Lol

@Deer_Meat02 just a few more days and you’ll start seeing amber in the trichomes. Once ot gets to around 20% amber thats where I chop.
