What would be your decision?

Here’s a possible scenario , You have to leave town for 5 days. Right at the time your ladies are ready to harvest. (approx 10 percent amber) Would you leave them for 5 days in the pots or would you harvest and hang for 5 days. ( Risking drying out ) No access to them either way. Would turning the light off for 5 days be a bad idea?

Yes. You would be removing the energy source for the plant to grow and maintain trichomes.

If you can control the temp and humidity in the drying area while gone I suggest going ahead and setting it up to dry while you are gone. It typically takes 7ish days to dry weed at 60% RH and 68ish degrees F. If you can’t control the drying environment that well, then I would wait until you get back. The soil would be very dry when you get back, but it will have a good 3 to 4 days to get that dry if you water well before you leave. The only potential drawback is that you will have more amber (unless that’s a good thing for you.)

I’m with @MidwestGuy If you have a proper drying area I would harvest .Most people shoot for a 8 to 10 day drying period with correct temperature an humidity.
Good luck :v:

Thanks all, I was leaning the dry way. I never went more than 10 percent amber, I believe that leads to more of a couch lock feeling that I don’t want. Mine have dry before within less than that time frame. I usually have a small fan blowing down on the ground and one being exhaust.
