What size container is recommended for a plant
Welcome to the community!! A lot of growers use 3 or 5 gallon for autos.
Thanks I’ve always used 5 gallon pails for my yearly outdoor grows. But with me trying out autoflowering seeds and an indoor grow this time I was wondering because of the shortened grow period what was the smallest container I could get away with for space concerns
I run 3 gallon pots, you could use 1 gallon for more plants but will need to train them
3-5 gallons pots I would recommend. Personally like the 5 more then my 3 because I do LST and gives more room to pull branches down
I like 3 gallon pots for the Autoflowers. If you don’t plan on the training aspect and grow straight up. Happy Growing!
What size container do you wish to lift regularly? When I was young, 35 gallon and moved with U-haul.
Now, I am convinced 3 or 5 Gallon won’t hurt too bad.
3 gallon pots can support surprisingly large plants. More root space doesn’t hurt, but isn’t strictly necessary.
Welcome to the community , check the dimensions they vary a lot Depending on brand no bigger than a 5 gallon inside grow. Good luck
theres no standard, its just personal preference and what works best for you, personally i like 7gal fabric pots, i dont use the whole pot so i just fold the top down some to the size i want- i just like having the extra space there shall i want to use it…plus i found 10 brand new 7gal fabric pots on fb market for 50cents each lol so you know i had to grab em
Here is the biggest point. How often do you like to water. A bigger pot holds more water so less watering when the plants are small. The bigger the pot the more water in flower.
If I top water. I only use 5 gallons for autos my self. I am in coco though. A 3 gallon will dry out before lights out once in flower for me. In coco. I would use a 7 gallon my self for photos that were top fed. If I was using a large scrog. A 5 gallon pot will grow a lb plant. At least in coco. I have never used soil. So it may need a bigger pot. But I am with @kellydans for this. A 5 will cover about any thing I do indoors.
And welcome to the forum.
