I added some kelp, gypsum, finely ground lime, and humid/fulvic for uptake to my Promix this run and will definitely use again, smooth sailing all the way so far. Knock on wood….![]()
Thanks for the clarification @Jaysittinback
I believe for dwc it should be just the 3 part flora series.
I use pro mix in my pots and had no issues with the flora Nova.
And yes I’ve heard of it staining when used in dwc.
Ok you guys were already aware and knowing which ones yous are comparing, don’t mind me. Maybe somebody out there doesnt know about the 2 different flora series. But this is the most knowledgeable community around so there ya go. Happy growing growmies
Since I don’t use that Flora Nova products, I didn’t know they had 2 different lines.
I use General Hydroponics 9 part Flora Series and grow hydroponically. Recently, I looked at other nutrient lines, but this stuff is easy to use and works very well.
I grow in soil. I stated off with Fox Farms nutes but it was too much time mixing for me. Most recently, I’ve been using Gaia Green 444 & 284 dry amendments. I came across a good deal on 20kg of each so I’ll be using it a while.
I water with a little calmag each time. I like to feed the soil with some black strap molasses once a week. And on previous grows, I was adding a probiotic bio-stimulant once a week and occasionally adding in a little mycorrhizae but on this last grow, I increased that and alternated the bio-stimulant and mycorrhizae on every watering. The jury is still out on whether the increase was beneficial or not.
I’ve started re-using my soil, first time was this last grow. I’m using the same 444/284 to re-amend along with a few other ingredients but I’m just learning this part sooo
. I think, in the past, I was trying to force feed my grows early on and almost lost my entire 3rd grow. I had forgotten what I’d read - less is more. So I backed off on supplementals and am just working with what I said above. I’ll add things slowly if the future.
Yes that’s a problem that I am having to fix myself LOL how did you lose your crop
Besides their normal feeding regiment, I was adding something every watering, like compost tea, an organic bud booster, fish poop, something. Didn’t actually loose any of them, but they all had some level of nute burns going on. Add to that the introduction of my first HLG light, lots of buds turned to crispy critters. After harvest and cure, turned out it tasted pretty bad when smoked, so it was pretty much a loss in my book. Wife used it for tincture.
You guys use any Southern AG or Hydroguard? I’m getting residue in my res and that’s not what res is supposed to stand for… think that would help?
I add Hydroguard in my 85L hydroponics tank every seven days when my water temperature is above 21°C. I dose at 0.6ml per liter to prevent root rot and I haven’t lost any plants since. Once you open the bottle, it’s good for 6 months when stored at room temperature. I also use Southern AG Purecrop1 for spidermites and fungus gnats and it works great.
I am using Humboldt’s it is best overall for all types of plants indoor and outdoor
