TDS pen, check out Blue Lab. I’ve been using one for 3 years with no issues :love_you_gesture:

I use an Apera PC60. It measures both pH and PPM. Bluelab, mentioned above, also make great meters.

Welcome to the neighborhood :v: I also have the apera. It did a great job for me. I don’t use it any more as I am grow in Earth Dust. Happy growing :v:

Welcome to the group
While I’m in coco-coir and don’t measure runoff, this is what i use to measure ppm any other times i need to.

This is the easiest tds/ppm meter to use I’ve ever seen.
It gives CF, EC, ppm 500 scale, and ppm 700 scale all at same time with no buttons and never requires calibration. Has 5 year guarantee, runs on 3 x AA batteries.

Hi BigE,

I got the Blue Lab grower’s toolbox. It comes with a pH pen and an EC pen, Kinda pricey at $160, but it seemed to be a popular kit in my research. I am growing in coco coir, so it is important to watch the EC levels in the feed and the run-off.

No it organic nutrients for the soil.

Bluelab and Apera are both good brands. Apera is cheaper.

I just googled it and i see that you have to mix in a bunch of amendments with it. Does it keep the pH stable enough to where you dont have to monitor it?

Yes the ph isn’t an issue with it. It is actually the easiest was to grow to me. The thing is Earth Dust went out of business. There is a company on here that has Highway Dust, it the same idea. There is no testing for ph runoff, in fact you don’t really want runoff. You keep the soil moist all the time and just top dress every so ofter. Im not completely sure how ofter you top dress but if you want more information on it hit @MeEasy up, he grows with highway dust. happy growing. :v: :slightly_smiling_face:

Thats the problem. I like to work with my plants but i am getting to the point that i dont want to have to mess with pH. I have had a few problems with the pH rising. So i am looking for a meathod that eliminates this issue. I am tired of flushing the soil and checking pH just to see that it rose… this is my first grow and i know i made a few mistakes. For one, i have a plant right now with twisting leaves and turning lime green. The pH is 6.5 and i can see soil at the top but i put Coco at the bottom half and didn’t realize the mistake i made and now that i am 5 weeks into flower, i am assuming that the roots grew down into the coco and thats why i am having lock out. I just flushed it but the pH is still sitting at 6.5. I ran 15 gallons through it (5 gallon fabric pot) to now avail… i thought the soil would work its way down into the coco. Apparently not.
I am going to get some Dolomite Lime and scratch it into the top to try to lower the pH to at least 6.0 for the coco at the bottom. It was growing fine during veg…

Coco-coir and perlite, feed nutrient solution everyday at 5.8 ph and never worry about runoff ph or ppm. Can’t get much easier then that other then if you have the organic knowledge to grow an amazing super soil but that’s beyond my skills

No, your right. How many ppm and how much water if its daily?
